Food Lion — Local services in Chesapeake

Most incompetent employees I've ever met. Can't process a refund to save their lives.

Couple weeks ago I bought some cheap mangoes, but they were mistakenly rung up for much more expensive pears. Didn't catch the error until I already paid. Not a problem, or so I thought. Cashier tried to refund me for the cheaper mangoes instead of the more expensive pears that I actually paid for. Bagger tried to help as well. Could not figure it out and didn't understand when I tried to explain it to them. Had to eventually call a manager.

Yesterday I bought some guacamole on sale, but it rang up as full price. Again, didn't catch it until after i paid. Employee refunded me for the sale price - not the price I actually paid. The difference is $0.80, but that's not the issue.

The issue is the employees are incapable of understanding Food Lion's policies and how to process a proper refund.

I only go to this location because it's near my house, but I think I need to go to the one down the street where I've never had an issue - plus it's a bigger store.

Plus, making a left turn out of the parking lot is...

So my only bone to pick with this location is that there are no self check out counters. This makes a whole world of difference in my world as my wait times decrease in line. Self check outs are the new thing, so lets get with the program. Plenty of parking. There are plenty of handicap carts. The store is well organized and well stocked. I waited 5 to 10 minutes in line because of slow cashiers. I come here because the store is generally well stocked. There are nearby restaurants. Restrooms are in the back. Produce, deli, and cakes to...

Well stocked for such a small store. It's clean. The produce is very good, and their meats top quality. They have three scooters for the disabled and when not in use they keep them plugged and fully charged. The staff are just great. Smiles all around, and very helpful when you are looking for something. If you want quiet, and peaceful shopping in a quality environment, this is the store for you. Last but not least their prices...
