Frank Anthony Salon — Local services in Chester Township

My experience here was not good. I was trying to get a cut apptmt w a woman who specializes in pixie cuts for weeks and it was almost like this one older receptionist took pride in blocking me out and giving me an attitude as well. I have a pixie cut bc I have been extremely sick for over a year and on medication that makes your hair fall out, which I told her but zero mercy or kindness. I have an upcoming cut apptmt but will be canceling it bc of my color experience. I was told the woman I went to for color was the best!!! I have a pixie and wanted to go blonde. The ends still had to much color which she easily could have just told me and sent me on my way but she decided highlights would be good bc my hair was dark and dull and all one color. It looked awful bc my hair is to short so it was striped looking and brassy. She covered it up but not well and I was left with light brown/ grayish streaks in my hair!!! After all I have been through and even told them this. This is how I leave the salon?? I came back the next day for her to fix it and now my hair is black!! Are you kidding me?? I wanted to go blonde, Not darker then what I came in with. You could tell she didn’t want to fix it or be bothered. She left me after dying it black at a station to style my hair with no blowdryer and no brushes or product. I had to Interrupt another stylist to get me to a proper station. Then when I was at the desk checking out I asked if she could come up to shave the little hairs off that grew down my neck w a pixie and she was gone already for the day!! And I said well can another stylist do it. I have my own mini buzzer and it takes 15 seconds to do and they said NO!!! No one can do it!!! So my husband did it when he got home from work for me. I was treated so cold and harshly there. I have been upset over it all weekend! Not to mention, The salon has no windows anywhere but the front. It’s dark w old school lighting. You can’t tell what color your hair is till you get home!!! Worst lighting I’ve ever seen. It’s old and dingy in there. Needs to be gutted and redone. For a salon that size put some money into it plz!!! The sinks are old and kill your neck. They don’t have neck cushions. Haven’t been to a salon in a decade that didn’t have the rubber neck cushions. This salon is very old and in major need of updates!! My experience there was just awful and I feel worse and look worse after going there. I wouldn’t recommended this place to anyone ever!!! The team of stylists and concierge at Frank Anthony Salon is truly THEEE BEST!!! From the very moment I arrived yesterday, I was treated with such warmth and professionalism as Nina greeted me, took my coat, and offered me something refreshing to drink. I was then cheerfully welcomed by my phenomenal colorist, Billie who, as usual, did such an outstanding job on my highlights. As always, I witnessed an incredible amount of teamwork among the entire Frank Anthony "FAmily"... You never see a team member just "hanging around" if they're not with a client of their own, but rather, they walk the floor to see what they can do to assist with the general work flow as a whole. For example, as Kiara was blow drying her client's long beautiful hair, another member came by and plugged in her blow dryer and assisted her team mate, which in turn expedited the process for the client. And this review would NOT be complete without a well deserved shout-out to Claudia... One of the most outstanding things that I enjoyed during my visit yesterday was that after she (in assisting Billie with my own personal client experience) removed my foils, as she shampooed my hair she gave me one of THEEE BESTTTT, most relaxing & invigorating scalp massages ever!!! Additionally, she was extremely careful not to spoil my make-up as she rinsed my hair, and I really appreciated the entire exceptional experience that she provided me. As always, my visit to Frank Anthony Salon yesterday was a phenomenal one, to say the least... Congratulations to the entire Frank Anthony "FAmily", for a job...

I decided to try this salon for the first time yesterday. I walked in with a lot of blonde highlights on my natural dark hair. I told the stylist that I wanted to be a little darker but still have some highlights to cover gray. I left with completely dark hair - my old highlights gone and two WHITE streaks of hair around my face. I was mortified. I called back when I got home to explain I wasn’t happy. They offered to correct it for free the next day no problem. I was happy they were trying to work with me. The next morning the original stylist called me and was argumentative saying that she did exactly what I told her and was asking how I wanted it corrected. I explained again what I wanted and when she was saying that’s what I got I said forget it I just want a single process color to forget the whole thing and cover it all up. She told me what I wanted she would not do -that it would destroy my hair. I am honestly appalled at how this was handled. I lost a lot of money because of this. I am very disappointed in the service I received and will not be going back again. +++ just to be fair, I called and spoke with the owner the next day and explained what happened.
