I wanted to leave a 4, but couldn't in good conscience do it. The food is cheap which is probably the only thing it has going for it. The French toast was bland. Got the biscuits and gravy. I don't know how you could call those biscuits. They're more like dollar pancakes. Home fries were pretty much just potatoes; no onions or peppers to speak of. Onion rings while a good size with a lot of onion were just too greasy and soggy. Coleslaw was strictly out of a tub which is fine but to charge $3.50 for a tiny bowl of it was outrageous. Apple pie was ok but would've been nice if it was warmed up. The food is just cooked with zero love. I mean just no effort whatsoever. Just the bare bones minimum product you can whip together. The place itself was rundown. I know quaint and that wasn't it. The menus were falling apart. How much does it cost to just buy some new sleeves for your menus. The service was quick but she didn't even know if they had pie or coleslaw. Keep in mind its a tiny menu so I have no idea how you don't know this. I have no idea how anyone can give this...
Read moreWhat a fun, local gem!! Being in New Jersey and unexpectedly needing breakfast, I checked out a few reviews and everyone loved the Mini Mac Diner. After going to see for myself, I could understand why they did.
I was greeted from the counter (and a few smiles from the rest of the room) when I entered, and the pleasant camaraderie continued throughout my meal. I settled on an omelet (without potatoes and toast at my request) and a side of bacon that was made quickly and deliciously. The lady running the counter and the lady cooking in the back were both cheerful, interactive, and kind. Everyone in the room seemed happy to be there, especially the three girls in the corner who had previously created a TikTok about the charms of the Mini Mac Diner.
A quick note: the Mini Mac Diner is cash only, so come prepared, and enjoy this local,...
Read moreOk breakfast, cups are dirty and have mold. The place is dirty. We had a frame on the table that had dust and fingerprints a over it. They also have a "policy" of no cell phones which is written in a construction paper and posted on the wall menu which only says cell phones outside. It's funny how the server which was pleasant for the most part but she approached our table and started asking our goddaughter her name and asking her if she would like to talk to us which I found very rude because she was assuming we were neglecting a conversation with our goddaughter which wasn't the case. I get there policy, but to approach the table the way she did was totally uncalled for. Not only that but there were other tables that came after us and they were using there cell phones and she did not say anything to them. We will not be visiting this...
