It was a very nice time with the family, splendid even. Now, what rubbed us the wrong way was the corn maze. Naturally, itâs a maze; get lost a bit before you find your way out and youâre not allowed to cut through maze paths via cornstalk. My girlfriend and I get caught up and lost, so weâre wandering after having reached the 2nd area of the maze. Mind you, workers who admit you prior to maze entry are to go inside and check on people in case theyâre taking too long/get lost. Let me tell you, none of that happened until someone got hurt. Yes, somebody got injured. Some kid was hiding in the cornstalks and ended up throwing a piece of corn which landed on a poor womanâs ankle. She was screaming in pain and we had to call the emergency # given to us. Now, this is what i found interesting. A few minutesâ to 20min later, they finally arrive and pick her up (yes, weâre still lost in the area that woman got injured at). Eventually weâve had enough, so we decide to cut through cornstalks since itâs been a whopping 2+hrs since our entry. Now, i know you are not supposed to cross through them, but as we were doing so, actual workers were doing patrols (wow, finally!) and gave us an attitude saying âthat can NOT happenâ, after stating we were lost and needed help. The attitude on those 2 employees who began scolding us was uncalled for, but funny due to some sort of protection they havenât quite resolved yet. Maybe instead of getting mad and pressed at those who are giving you reception + keeping you in business, be patient and maybe try not to talk smart as youâre escorting us out. Luckily the Cider was good, and that the food wasnât all too bad. The workers by the maze gate, however, do better. If yâall did your work correctly, that woman who sprained her ankle via kids throwing corn would not have happened. She was doing quite lovely at the bar after that incident transpired but Iâm sure she wouldâve appreciated the evening if it was spent healthily inside the maze with her family. Truly a shame that the workers near the entrance of the maze value gossiping and hindsight remarks, as opposed to actively...
Read moreUpdate: On 10/07/22 I am happy to say, once again, the Stony Hill Farms Corn Maze was wonderful. We went on Friday at 11am and it was clean, not busy, and the weather was perfect. The paper map, the GPS Maze Tracker, and the corn field, were all in sync, yay! We had a blast.
One item of note, having lunch under the tent on the picnic tables the lanternflies were quite bothersome. We only noticed them in this spot. We didn't notice any in the maze.
Thanks for a great time Stony Hill Farms!
Extremely Disappointing. On 09/11/20 the paper map provided did not match the actual maze. Additionally the GPS Maze Tracker appâs avatar, showed us in the wrong location.
We have done the Stony Hill Farms maze before and it has always been great. Immediately at the start we were lost, as the provided paper map did not match the actual field. We also tried to use the Maze Tracker app and the avatar was not even close to being accurate with the actual maze. Since we were not comfortable progressing further we turned around. We managed to made our way back out and advised the staff. The staff could not figure it out either. After waiting for about half an hour a person that identified herself as the manager insisted the map, and the appâs avatar were correct. When I offered to show her, she became agitated. I then requested a refund. She told me she would refund my money, so we went home. I hope that they will correct these conditions. FYI I am still waiting for the refund.
Update: we did receive a...
Read moreSo let me start by saying this.. the grounds are in good condition, the market is nice, the mazes are awesome especially the concept of the maze at dark.. thatâs what me and my partner came here forâŠHOWEVER for all my MELANATED folks.. beware.. this is not a easy going âfriendlyâ atmosphere. To top it off, cashier checking us in stated that no where on the farm do they sell flashlights when the website clearly states that they DO. I personally think she just did not want to be helpful.. the vibe was all off!!! If you donât care about any of that then youâll enjoy yourself I guess ⊠ice cream and lemonade were tasty.. worth noting
Also forgot to mention, we were waiting around for nearly 10 minutes (being the only customers waiting for food, others were placing an order using self kiosk) ) for them to pass us a pre-made, already in the cup, lemonade. You place the order yourself on a screen, the staff takes the receipt and makes your order.. she grabbed our receipt, looked at it and made us wait⊠I literally had to ask for the lemonade⊠which once again.. itâs already made and in cupsâŠ
** TO ANSWER FARM : yes I have taken a screenshot of where it says on your website under the Maze at dark section that you do sell flashlights. I can send it...
