Wise Guys Discount Liquors — Local services in Chesterton

The location is excellent and the staff is friendly. But truth be told, they need to find a better buyer for this store. Their beer selection is big, but that doesn't mean it's good. There's an overabundance of mediocre craft beer. And some stuff will sit on the shelves for months (check brewed on date when you're here). Outside of a major beer release, I've never bought anything on whim here because they hardly ever have anything to be excited about.

Also, a minor complaint, but they have never followed up with me when I've requested some fairly common things that they don't have. Most the time it just makes more sense to drive to Triangle in Valpo than to settle for WiseGuys.

This is my #1 stop for all things alcohol. I bought a $180 bottle of The Macallan scotch whiskey for $80 for my brother for his birthday. The staff is always very helpful and the store is always very clean. If they don't carry something, they will try to help you find some place to pick it up. During the COVID-19 crisis, these guys remained open and they provided drive-up services. Greatest liquor...

Well I think this is a decent place. They seem helpful and knowledgeable. Prices do seem a little bit on the higher side. I called to checked on the price of an item as to not waste my time going there if it was too high or if they didnt have it. I was refused the price over the phone. Therefore they have lost a customer. I did buy something the day prior, but that will be my last time...
