Alright, guys. This is long-winded but trust me when I say, the 5 hours I spent at Patricia Marie Salon flew by because ultimately, the time felt like it was spent with trusted friends. I have never left a salon feeling more satisfied and I have never trusted a team of individuals more than the Patricia Marie team. So yeah, this review will be long but dang it, it’s what this team deserves! My story is a tale as old at time that began with myself foolishly agreeing to help an aspiring stylist by allowing her to commit a series of atrocities on my head. We live, we learn, we have purple hair for a month and avoid all cameras. This is all because I didn’t go back to my faithful team at Patricia Marie. I walked in to Patricia Marie with my tail between my legs because I was a very silly person to ever allow anyone else to even touch my hair. From now on, that is Eliot’s job! First of all, facilities? Top frickin notch. Well decorated and furnished with tasteful little details all around. Location? Can’t be beat in Lincoln Park, after your cut go grab a cupcake at Swirls, you deserve it. Team? Amazing group that immediately welcomes you and makes you feel right at home. But wait! Who else welcomes you? Possibly the cutest dog in existence named Moose who is so well natured. He’s the silent cheerleader for anyone looking to enhance their look (he’s a hard worker, guys). This is one of those “Would you like water or tea?” places and while I never actually do that, I felt immediately relaxed and comfortable with my lil mason jar of chilled water. Eliot and the entire team had a hand in fixing me and spent 5 hours (1.5 of which they were closed but they were on a mission here!) making absolute sure that I left the salon happy. I can’t articulate how far that goes in terms of awesome service. These are simply amazing people running an outstanding family-run salon. I personally believe anyone who has left a negative review has some personal issues that they probably need to work because I was unable to finish writing the review without googling synonyms for “amazing”. They fit the description for all of them. And the salon services? My hair? Unflippinbelievable. Ya know how when you’re at the salon and they’ve just washed your hair you kinda look like a wet pomeranian (i.e: not great)? When I caught a glance in the mirror after washing out the blonde balayage mission, I could have just left with wet hair because of how stupid happy I was that a miracle occured: no flippin purple was left in my hair. At all. A complete 180 guys, I think they put something magical in their formulas, I mean that. I had fun, too. Emily, Trish, and of course, Eliot, all of ya, I had a complete blast during a time in which I had lost a ton of confidence. I could cry thinking of the ways this team has helped elevate me to look good and feel good because of their services. Hair may just be hair and grow back, but this team is a truly exceptional one with a beautiful mission to help you feel like your best self. You simply won’t ever go to another salon after leaving Patricia Marie’s. Don’t be like me. Just go see Trish or Eliot or Emily and you’ll be all the better for it. Thank you thank you thank you, guys! TLDR: Go read it but also, just trust me, you’ll leave Patricia Marie a happier and hotter individual, I can...
Read moreI went to the salon for a haircut one week and the next week for a double process with special placement foils with the same stylist for both appointments. I was charged for flat iron curl styling with my haircut since that’s how I booked it, but was did not receive it. I have received the refund for this issue, so at least this was resolved. However, I had an issue with my coloring experience. I know that this review will probably prompt a response from the owner’s, but the proof is in the pictures and in the fact that I had to get it corrected at another salon with a stylist who confirmed they did not correctly process my hair to achieve what I wanted. I called the salon the Monday after my appointment to explain that I was unhappy and look for resolutions. I was met with one of the co-owners belittling me the entire conversation and treating me like a child and also falsely claiming that I had box dye on my hair. I have never had someone talk to me so rudely in my life and they ultimately saw no issue with how my hair looked. By the time I spoke with the other owner (who was much nicer), I had no faith that this salon was a place that I could trust again. I was only offered to tone down the roots for free, but the issue was more than just the roots since my hair was not a dark copper beyond the top of my head. When I went to get it fixed at a different salon, the stylist who worked to correct their mistakes said that they should not have bleached me as light as they did and should have lifted my entire head instead of the way they did which resulted in the top half being red and the bottom half blonde and browns. Going to this salon was such a waste of time, money, and energy especially since another stylist proved that this look was easily achievable in one sitting. I have included pictures with my review of what I received and the reference photo because I believe this will show more truth to anything beyond my words or what the salon...
Read moreI’ve been supporting Patricia and Eliot (business partners who are also happily married!!) since 2018, back when the studio was called Patricia Marie Salon. First off - they KNOW what they’re doing. I cannot emphasize that enough. For the past four years, I have been going too light with the blonde and bleaching (I have naturally dark hair; see “before” picture for reference) and they’ve always warned that it would be damaging to go that light. In my 20s, I kept taking the risk while ignoring their concerns (ahhh, 20s). I’m now 30 and “health & wellness” has been my focus striding into this new decade. Eliot was my stylist today (I’ve had him maybe once or twice before), and once again, I came with a picture with hair color that was too light and damaging to my hair. This time around, I asked what I should go for because I wanted a more mature look while staying fresh and young. Being the genius that he is, Eliot recommended THIS color (see “after” picture) and reiterated throughout our almost four hour session the importance of HAIR HEALTH. Uhhh, yes. Why have I NOT taken hair health seriously before?! And wow, does my hair look healthy YET seriously so sexy?!?!?! It’s darker than what I have been going for for the past several years BUT it’s a color that I have never considered before that fits me SO much better!!!!! I’m still stunned and cannot stop looking at myself in the mirror. Patricia, Eliot, and crew: y’all have been amazing for these past four years and I wish you nothing but continued success as your company grows and crushes new goal after new goal. My hair and I can’t wait for many more years with 707 Hair Studios!!!
