I was really excited for my second appointment at The Fitz. Dana, a true professional, recommended something that the plastic surgeon whom I have seen regularly for fillers and injections had not in our first appointment. She pointed out that the procedure had some moments where I would experience pain. She prescribed pain meds which she said would be called into the Walgreens by staff at The Fitz (I live nearby). She was adamant about taking the meds before the procedure.
I called the Fitz three days before procedure to ask about the prescription (Walgreens did not have a record of it). I was put on hold for a few minutes and then abruptly informed that the prescription had not yet been called in. I was assured the prescription would be called in that day.
Walgreens had no record of the prescription when I arrived two days later. Without meds, I was not going to undergo the procedure so I called The Fitz, explained how the prescription was not at Walgreens, and asked to speak with a manager.
The supervisor of the medical assistants called me back. I asked that the appointment be cancelled without the $100 penalty they charge. To me, waiving the $100 fee was a no brainer and was the least The Fitz could do for me after I wasted my time: calling Walgreens (and being placed on hold for what seemed forever); calling The Fitz to remind them of the prescription, and then, based on the Fitz' reassurance, waiting in line at Walgreens for twenty minutes for nothing.
He said he needed to speak with the Client Experiences Manager (mmm just how bad does the client experience have to be for this person to step in and call back?). He did call back to say the fee had been waived.
Anyway, maybe you have the time and patience to deal with those who do not seem to care about the inconvenience their lack of professionalism and poor customer service caused. Me? I'd rather find professionals who are truly caring professionals.
As I look through the offerings there are so many competitors, many with more positive reviews and so off I went to Viva La Med Spa, a family-owned and family-run spa directly across the street. With over 260 reviews, Viva La Med Spa's 4.9 score is much higher than The Fitz. (The five star reviews all mention the customer service and yes, the services.)Yes, it is not as luxurious as The Fitz but the people who work there are so genuine and welcoming, just like a family. I am excited because they will be offering Sofwave, the procedure I was to undergo at The Fitz.
But wait let me tell you about my experience at Viva La Med Spa-it was for teeth whitening. I called to make an appointment and asked about the cost. The receptionist said that there was a Groupon and to make the appointment and then bring the Groupon with me and they would honor it. What business tells you how to save money- only one that cares. And, yes, there is more, they donate some their profits to burn victims. So you can feel good about yourself and know that you are helping someone else at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have had mixed experiences here. First off, the clinic is stunning. Props to whoever designed it.
I was pleased with my injection services, had 4-5 visits with an NP at the top of her field (numerous awards and accolades). This provider is no longer at the Fitz..
Not so pleased with the esthetic side. I went to a few different estheticians. The second esthetician, to her credit, told me the first one had prescribed and administered a treatment course (BBL series) that was making my melasma worse. Verified by Dr. Google. Those treatments put me backwards in my skincare journey, were not cheap, and were a huge waste of time.
I went another time for a VI peel, which is the correct treatment for melasma and met with my 3rd esthetician (the one from previous visit had changed employers by this time) at the Fitz. This gal seemed rushed with her process and to be chomping at the bit to wrap up her last Saturday afternoon client and get out of there (she changed clothes and left and before I was even done paying). Not sure what happened with the treatment but I barely peeled over the next 5 days (the point is to shed as much of the top layer of damaged skin as possible). That was also an expensive treatment that gave little to no results.
Iām not sure what is up with the inconsistent quality of staffing and all the turnover. The Fitz is pricy, and the results are just too inconsistent to be paying the premium.
I will say I am fortunate to have found a great injector here who I followed to her next practice, and fortunate to have found a great esthetician (āsecond estheticianā referenced above) here whom I followed to her next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt think I have ever written a review before, but for this place, I feel particularly compelled. This is the worst Botox experience I have ever had. The certified dermatologist I typically go to hears my concerns and has not once EVER tried to sell me on more Botox than I need. If anything she recommended I do less than what I had gotten at another office. I recently heard about the Fitz and how great of an experience people have and once I learned the price per unit, I was sold. However, at the appointment, I waited over 20 min for someone to see me. Once the appointment started, I told the person doing my Botox the amount I typically get and she basically laughed in my face saying how much more she gets and how much more I would need. After being steamrolled into getting far more Botox than I have ever gotten, I mentioned how the wrinkles on one side of my face were more prominent than others, so I requested to have a little more Botox on those areas (which is what my dermatologist does) and was flat out told my face was perfectly even (which it was 100% not). Now my Botox is incredibly uneven and Iām so frustrated I wasnāt listened to. Once I felt completely ignored and bullied into getting the insane amount of Botox forced upon me, I go to checkout. I was shocked at how much i had to pay. It was well over $200 more than Iāve ever paid. If you think you are getting more bang for your buck, think again. Either they are providing the worst grade Botox possible or they are lying about how much they are giving you, because half the amount I got at a dermatologist office does more than what I got here. Definitely do not...
