Farm in the Zoo — Attraction in Chicago

The farm in the middle of the big city of Chicago. A wonderful place for all people. Families will enjoy this delightful farm as there are displays and activities for all ages. The children can pet certain animals in the petting portion part of the farm. Through our the day there are demonstrations on milking agricultural equipment and livestock breeding and raising. In just a couple of hours one can learn a great deal about agricultural sciences and how farming effects the global economy. The staff is very knowledgeable about each and every animal on display and are exceptional in answering questions from a wide range of people. The farming equipment and vehicles are impressive and one should have a greater appreciation of the amount of hard work money and education needed to succeed in agricultural business and science. This exhibit at the zoo is such a fun and interactive experience, especially for city kids who get the chance to learn where their food comes from. It’s family-friendly, walkable, and provides a unique opportunity to connect with farm life in the middle of the city. The space is also available as a rentable event venue, making it a versatile addition to the zoo. Having grown up on a farm, I truly enjoy walking through this area and appreciating the thoughtful design. A lot has change ever since I went when I was much younger. Exhibits temporarily closed were a minor set back but some of the attractions have been altered namely the cow milking station: now with a frost glass panel to destress the cows I'm assuming. The barn is going under some changes: still no bees, no scale to see how heavy you are in comparison to farm animals, weren't any chicks last I went so a little underwhelming in the farm area, but the rest of the zoo is always a...
