The best thing about that place is the tech, Tracy. she is the only reason i am leaving two stars. She was so good to my Molly and me both, but i cannot say the same for the owner/doctor. I unfortunately did not have the same grand experience everyone else in the reviews has shared. My girl was incredibly sick and although i understand not sugar coating things, there is a certain demeanor and empathy i expect good veterinarians to have for their patients and i did not experience that. The bedside manner was at best poor and compassion nonexistent. When i called to try and make the appointment to have Molly put down, she informed me she was on the way to a baby shower so it would be hours later. While I know my emergencies are not everyone’s emergencies, she could have simply said an appointment time, without letting me know i was an inconvenience in her day. I got my molly girl when she was only 8 weeks old, and she died this week after 10 incredible years together. She was my best friend so naturally i was a bucket of tears through the entire experience. After Molly was put down (by another, more compassionate vet), i received a phone call the next day from someone at hometown letting me know they received her test results back from her prior appointment. I tried to tell them I didn’t need the results that Molly was no longer with us and the person on the phone responds with “oh! She’s doing good?” Mind you, the appointment with doctor whatever her name is, had been canceled and I could have sworn I told her I wouldn’t need the results, but I’ve been nothing but tears for days so it’s hard to remember. Regardless, there was a significant lack of communication between the office, and a serious lack of compassion from the vet herself. Besides Tracy, i can also say for our first appointment they did get us in rather quickly. The front dear receptionist was also kind, but i unfortunately did not get her name or the blonde lady that let me see my Molly after her biopsy was done. They were kind to me, and for that i am thankful. I’m glad so many others had positive experiences, I wish i could have...
Read moreHometown Vet was able to get my dog in as a new patient last minute on a Friday, and I couldn’t be more grateful. From the front office staff to the amazing vet tech Tracy and Dr. Mitchell, every person we interacted with was kind, professional, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.
My dog is extremely nervous at the vet and it’s always a stressful experience. When I called, the staff assured me that Dr. Mitchell would do everything she could in the room with us, which meant a lot because so many vets say that but end up doing whatever is easiest for them. Hometown Vet actually followed through on that promise. Even when it became clear that my dog would need to be sedated for treatment, they still gave us the option to do it in the room, which I’m sure required more effort on their part. Tracy, the vet tech, was incredible, so kind, funny, and patient. She truly took the time to earn my dog’s trust and make the experience as calm as possible for her.
I can’t thank the team at Hometown Vet enough for their compassion and care. They turned a really stressful situation into one that felt manageable and respectful of both my dog’s needs and mine. We’ll absolutely be making them our regular vet moving forward....
