Treat yourself by NOT going here, it isn’t a spot for a fun little afternoon of treasure hunting. Don’t waste an outfit or the iced coffee y’all, seriously.
Literally any other antique mall within an hour of this place is 100% better.
First of all, a large number of the good reviews/pictures here have been left by people who have booths which is a conflict of interest or many are just fake/suspiciously low review accounts. Then there are reviews that pop up right after a bad one where they try to painfully and poorly create a narrative of their experience while trying to dispel what the last person said. What a weird pattern.
If you look at all of the 1/2/3 star reviews there is some astonishing consistency in the horrible experiences people have here, especially the nasty inviting staff. Quite frankly I feel so validated seeing that I am not alone.
And if you need any proof that what myself and other low star rating people are saying is true- Check out the owners snarky sarcastic nasty responses to other reviewers. This place is really telling on themselves by reacting that way to people sharing their experiences.** A normal and reasonable individual would take the feedback and try to do better, not be publicly nasty and crazy🤣🤣🤣
I have been to every antique store within 2hrs of Cincinnati a gazillion times, except for this one. I did continue to go back several times after my first bad visit a few time over YEARS, only to be met with increasingly horrible experiences. The only reason I continued to go back is because it’s on my way home from work and I wanted so badly to have a convenient little antique mall to visit on my way home sometimes. I just kept hoping that my horrible experience was a fluke- because like how the heck do people live being so miserable to strangers, especially trying to spend money with them?
No other time in my life have I had someone be so spontaneously rude and nasty to me, and that fact is only made more ridiculous by the fact that it happened EVERY TIME I WENT. Be it walking in, approaching to ask a question, or just trying to make friendly small talk-each time I was met with a lady just seething anger and agitation. I am pretty sure it was the same lady, I keep referring to management here but I think she maybe the owner, I could be wrong.
Not only is management/the lady unhinged, but even the contents of the place is horrible. It’s filled with stuff that would be better suited for a yard sale or it appears that it’s just people who grab anything old they see at a thrift store. Managements repeated commentary on their so-called curation skills of the vendors is amusing given the erratic booth contents and the out of touch prices those vendors ask. (Google reverse image search is your friend for finding things online, so if you do go, check prices there. And if me saying this upsets management, IMO that just seems like proof that prices aren’t competitive.)
It really is too bad that management’s ego is in the way of them listening to people who have had negative experiences there. Instead of taking in feedback and trying to improve it, their logic is to blabber off self incriminating responses to reviewers everyone can see. Let’s see if we get a demonstration of that or if management is able to just take in feedback and move on without having to reply. If management really wanted to make me look silly they’d admit fault and apologize and say...
Read moreI wont be going back to this place. Extremely rude front desk lady, grungy location, parking lot feels like a prison. I walked in and the lady, cut me off twice, spoke to me in a tone that I haven’t heard since my son was a teenager , and She couldn’t be bothered to even make eye contact. I went in to potentially rent a booth, network with some other sellers, and maybe even buy a couple things. I was offering to show her some gorgeous chairs and see if she knew anyone who would want to sell them. I’m also newly moving back to town. Not to toot my own horn, but its part of the story to say that I am a prolific picker as well as a furniture maker and fixer. I am setting up shop just down the road from this place so I thought I’d share these great chairs to break the ice. And further my work, puts me with a lot of clients who are designing new spaces in their homes and offices. They all value appreciates quality stuff including antiques. My services can also help their sellers. And I was getting ready to spend money there!! We all have bad days and hard stuff going on sometimes. So Im generally easy on folks. I rarely complain, tip %30plus everytime. I think I’m generally a good customer. I have worked in the service industry in some capacity for my entire career. So I have understanding for folks who deal with customers all day. I hope the owners of this place know how they are being represented. If she is the owner, then thats even worse. You just never know who walks in to your establishment with so its best to use simple manners while saying No. “No” is of course, fine. But if you can’t , at least, fake some basic human respect, then you shouldn’t be interacting with customers and certainly not interfacing potential...
Read moreStopped in at 5:10 pm today. I noted closing time was 5:30. I walked into the back room off to the left.of the front counter. Spent a few minutes looking at a sofa. Staff came back to remind me about closing time of 5:30. I acknowledged her and then walked around for a couple of minutes. It was now 5:17 so I decided to quickly go through the rest of the store as I was looking for a particular piece of furniture, not just browsing. To my surprise, the lights had been turned off and a staff member was practically blocking me from entering the larger room. I was told I couldn't continue my visit due to the fact that they had to close the register. I was asked if I understood, but quite frankly I was so dumbfounded I just stood there. I was then politely escorted to the door and basically 'got the boot'. The gentleman who was closing the register had no words of apology or a thank you for coming in. He obviously just wanted me gone.
Here's a suggestion. If you want to clock out and leave by 5:30 pm, then set your closing time as 5:20 pm. That way, you won't make a potential customer feel...
