UPDATE : as of Feb 2025. It looks like trash. And has still not healed enough to get it fixed. The shop owner reached out with false information , saying the artists were all independent even though Mia told me all about how close friends she was with the owner. I’m not trusting anyone there . . I’ll get it fixed somewhere professional.
I’m beyond disappointed with my experience with Mia. I went in for a memorial tattoo the day after losing my dog of 10 years.. hoping it would help me honor her memory. Instead, it turned into one of the worst experiences I've ever had.
Almost immediately after getting the tattoo, I noticed serious issues—redness, oozing, and tenderness that lasted for way longer than it should. I contacted Mia and we talked about possible infection. After a week of monitoring it and it not getting much better - I went to my doctor, who told me it was NOT an infection (see photo) that it was in fact caused by too much pressure and severe trauma to my skin. I also got more artists opinions - and they told me I got dug out. I was and still am devastated. I’ve been telling myself this whole time it’s my body. As has Mia.
When I reached out to her with the news, hoping for ant least a conversation so I can get some understanding, as I know she recently graduated her apprenticeship so maybe something happened? I wanted to talk about it so hopefully we could clear the air and I would feel confident getting this touched up.. I got nothing but cold responses. she kept offering a "free touch-up," but there was no apology, no compassion, and no assurance that this wouldn’t happen again. When prior to the doctors findings, she was very apologetic that my “healing process and that my body wasn’t reacting the way we’d hoped”
This tattoo was supposed to be a special way to remember my soul dog, the one who got me through my twenties, but instead, I’ve spent way more than I should have had to with the medical bill, the tattoo, and the disappointment - and now having to find someone to turn this into something I enjoy looking at is going to hurt , cost money, and it’s just a nightmare.
I wouldn’t recommend Mia to ANYONE. If you’re looking for someone who actually cares about their work and their clients, go somewhere else. Mia showed zero empathy and left me feeling worse...
Read moreThis is what every shop should strive to be. There was one guy here when I went in and he was with a client for an appointment. He had the guy wait so he could find me an artist. He actually looked at what I wanted and called around to find the one that fit the style I wanted. After about 10 minutes I asked if I should go home and come back when he found someone. He took my info and I got a text an hour later from a man named Eric, he said he loves to tattoo color and the cartoony style I wanted.
We met at the shop an hour later and he asked me about my ideas. I showed him the 2 characters I wanted with the idea and asked that if he would come up with the design and choose the colors. It took him like 15 minutes to draw this gorgeous design. I'm beyond thrilled with my tattoo. It hurt of course but they all do to a degree lol. It took 3 hours, maybe a bit longer.
I didn't have any complaints about the shop, the artists or the tattoo I got. In fact this is my fourth tattoo and it's by far the best I've gotten. Eric was fun to hang with during the session, and talking with him and the other artists and patron in the shop helped to pass the time and ease the pain a bit top. Its odd to be laughing while you're in agony lol.
All in all this place has to be one of the best in Sac. The people, the atmosphere and especially the art. I was blown away and I'm in love with my tattoo. As long as I live in Sac I won't be seing anyone but Eric when I want a new tat. If you're looking for quality and good people you can't go wrong with this place. I'm in love with my new thigh tattoo. THANKS GUYS!...
Read moreI went to a tattoo shop with an idea for a tattoo it was supposed to be a wizard conjuring up images of my daughter and granddaughter in a crystal ball. Met an artist there he liked the idea thought he could do it. Well the wizard looked more like Jesus than a wizard and the portraits of my daughter and grand daughter didn’t look to bad until the artist thought adding color would really make them “pop” well it made them look a mess I never went back to see him again and for 8 years I would put my arm behind my back or turn so it couldn’t be seen in photos. I was embarrassed to go to another artist and ask if they could do something with the mess I had. Then a friend told me to go see George. I went and told him I’d like to do something patriotic and was open to ideas. He looked at my arm for a couple minutes and had a vision. Ive had 5 half day sessions and I am amazed at what he did. He took a mess I thought no one would even attempt to cover up and made it a work of art. I will definitely refer anyone that mentions getting tattooed to him!! The atmosphere and the camaraderie between the artists is great too you can tell they genuinely like each other. It’s nice to be in a place where everybody’s laughing and joking and...
