Max Pies Furniture — Local services in City of Batavia

I’ve done business with max pies for over 30 years and dealt with the owner Phil who always took care of any issues I’ve had in the past and always made sure things were right. I bought 2 recliners not yet two years old now and have been having issues with the fabric for over a year now. The fabric started serious pilling and was told I needed to shave them which meant about every other week. I told Steve I thought the fabric was defective or maybe dry rotted and was told no pilling was very common. He sent to man to take pictures and never had the consideration to call and let me know what he thoughts. Well two months ago the fabric on headrest literally shredded six inches by two. I wrote a letter to the owner Phil and as of yet have not heard from him. So to put it nicely I would not recommend buying furniture from them. Earlier this summer I purchased a recliner for my mom, top of the line. It was supposed to take 4-6 weeks for delivery. The time came and went and we heard nothing from Max Pies. My mom called and they said it was going to take a few more weeks due to Covid. I understand they can’t help the Covid situation but I do expect the company to be more vigilant and proactive in their communication. They should check in with their distributors and/or the manufacturers periodically to assess any impact to customer orders in queue. Then proactively reach out to impacted customers with updates. My mom, who is not well health-wise, was eagerly awaiting her lift chair. She was SO disappointed to hear about the delay AFTER she had to followed up with them. It’s early August and she still doesn’t have her chair (going on 10 weeks since we ordered)....

This used to be a good company but don't waste your time and money here. My husband and I bought a small sofa and chair from them. The furniture in the store was comfortable and the recliners worked perfectly. Unfortunately the items we received were not as good and the recliners never worked properly. When we called to complain the owners son came to our home and said there was nothing wrong. I will NEVER waste my money...
