The staff here has historically been very good--which has been the saving grace for this store for years because it made the premise of selling your games back at horribly depreciated value somewhat tolerable. Over time it seems the staff has been squeezed, bled or pummled into lifeless and overworked subservience. Don't misunderstand: service is still great but it seems to be depleting the very last of the reserves of each of the workers to do so. If I have any idea about how this corporate retail thing goes: they seem underpaid and overworked with too much oversight and not enough leverage to do their jobs in a way that would truly make customers happy. So, in effect you get a store with (usually just one fairly frantically working) an employee who seems like they're making the best of a bad situation--almost the way you would expect someone to act if they were being held at gunpoint while doing a job they thought...

I received a handful of GameStop gift cards from friends a few years ago. They totaled $70. Looking at the fine prints, the gift cards do not expire. When I went to the store to use them, they told them the cards have been used which is impossible since the pin numbers have not been scratched yet. They told me to call their 1-800 number. I called and waited 20 minutes to speak to Customer Service who confirmed the cards have not been used; they were de-activated. They promised to issue me virtual credits. They took down my information and my email. They said the credit will take a week to issue. I don't know why since that's a long time for me to wait and use money that belongs to me. Not very attentive to their potential customers what so ever. Stood there waiting for someone to finally come over and help me (which I already knew what I wanted to buy so it would have been a 5 minute visit ) after 25-30 minutes they asked " can I help you with something". Purchased an Amazon Fire stick for $33 with regular membership card, which I think is a more than a reasonable price. I honestly just think the staff they have should be more aware and attentive to their potential buyers or they may lose out on sales from a salesman point of view after all they...
