Cato Fashions — Local services in Clarksdale

I have stopped at Cato many times over the years and have NEVER has an issue. Today I decided to shop for an upcoming trip to Ghana 🇬🇭 😌. I found some really cute Linen pants so I'm stoked! I grabbed 5 items and head to the dressing room and asked to try the clothes on. The attendant first, very nicely tells me I can only try 4 items, so I hand her one back. Then as we walk toward the dressing room she says, "I'll take those from you." I thought she was talking to someone else until she says it again. I said, "I need to try these on, what are you taking them for? 🤔 She says, "It's the policy." And she stands there, counts the pieces and hands them back to me! The least she could have done was hung them up in the dressing room. Like I've said, this is definitely not my first time in this store. Ive had my mother or daughter with me and been able to pass me different sizes and I always have 5-8 items. I'm practically the only person in the store. I don't know if the policy has changed recently or if me not coming in dressed as I usually would and carrying my designer purse mattered (I'd just left the gym) but, I WILL NOT SPEND MY MONEY IN A PLACE THAT TREATS ME LIKE A THIEF!!! PERIOD! I will order that outfit online! And let me be clear, the attendant did not speak rudely. She may need to learn how to do it with more flare, but your policy needs reviewing. I don't know if Cato has JUST started treating people like that or what, but I have never been treated like that. Review your policy...... I'm headed to Memphis to...

My wife shopped at Cato while visiting Clarksdale. There aren't too many places left where you can find decent attire that's suitable for Christian meetings that honors Jehovah. Cato is among few stores that still offer such attire. Too bad they don't carry men's ware. My wife was very pleased....

They have fairly good selection of clothing. I can always find something. Last time I was in they were rude and not helpful. You cannot use the dressing room and do not give you full price on items you return if you don't get them back...
