It’s nice to have this place so you don’t have to drive to Aurora to go to Walmart, and you can come here real quick to get little things, or a few ingredients. I would never go full on grocery shopping here, couldn’t afford it.
They need to do better on freshness of goods. Some of their produce is heinous, and needs thrown away or fed to the pigs. Lots of their candies and things like that are very old. Got a package of Horehound candies here, unbelievably old.
When I first started shopping here I bought a slab of beef, that had to be cut into New York Strips. Thought I was getting a good deal. The butcher cut it into steaks for us, we picked it up the next day. We should have known by the look on the butchers face that it wasn’t good. It looked fine when it was a huge slab of meat, sliced up: it was brown, stinky, and slimy. That meat was rotten. $115 for rotten meat. Right then and there I learned these people can’t be trusted. I should have caused an uproar about it, but I didn’t, I honestly felt pretty stupid after the fact for trusting it to begin with. If it looks too good to be true, it most likely is. I’ve not seen that butcher there in a long time, but he should have had the decency to say something about it. The owners knew that meat was rotten. It had probably been setting there waiting for someone to buy it for a long time, we didn’t know that, we were new to town. The fact y’all would sell rotten meat to human beings knowingly is a lack of character and morals. All the steak had to be thrown away. Over $100 right down the drain. Owners were awkward the next few times we went in. I think they were waiting on us to say something, which WE SHOULD HAVE.
Just be careful on what you buy in here.
Shortly after the steak incident, that butcher was gone. I believe a lot of the workers here aren’t aloud to do what they know needs to be done (not excusing him not saying anything to us by any means, you do what’s RIGHT, REGARDLESS of WHO is telling you not to). Another incident was a woman (who no longer works there) straight up told us when we were buying fried chicken that the grease needed changed, but they wouldn’t let her. (Appreciate her character, and her being straight up about the situation). You can taste when the grease needs changed. We quit buying their fried chicken. The first time we got their fried chicken it was good, every time after that it tasted like old grease, one time the chicken itself...
Read moreGood service, friendly owners, the selection isn't very big here. Its clean and a decent place to grab quick lunch or dinner. If I go grocery shopping for the week I go somewhere else it's just too expensive here to load up a full cart.Aldi is 100 dollars to fill a cart, here it would cost 250 or more if that gives you an idea how expensive things are here.id say 3 and a half stars. It's just so incredibly over priced the 5 star reviews are not honest, probably a favor asked by the owner...it's not that great at all come...
Read moreI would not recommend buying the food they make here. I bought a hamburger. When i got to my car i opened it and it was a fish sandwich that looked several hours old. Took it back in and they just laughed and thought it was funny. Asked if i wanted to buy a hamburger. Seriously. Terrible customer service and a rip off of a business. Very surprised most small town places like this are good to great. This...
