Best thrift store I’ve ever been to. Many “thrift stores” today, aren’t even thrift stores anymore, they are extremely overpriced donated goods most of the time. You won’t find that here. It really does help when you can come in here and get a pair of shoes, and a couple pairs of pants for next to nothing. The women that work the counter in the front and in the back are awesome. All the women in here do such a good job at keeping this store organized and running. I worry it won’t be the same when they’re gone. When my husband and I moved to this town a couple of years ago we were struggling, and we got food from the pantry. It helped us so much, and the process was sooo simple. Such a blessing. I’ve found a lot of people in town don’t even know that this is a thrift store. A couple people I’ve told about this place thought you had to get food pantry food before you can get anything else. You don’t have to get anything from the food pantry to go thrift shopping here. When you thrift shop here, it actually helps them raise money for the food pantry, which will help those in need. You can also donate food here, and merchandise they can sell. They do not overprice their merchandise, so you can actually feel good about donating it, and know that it will help someone. Hours are: Tuesday 9 am - 12 pm Thursday 3 pm - 6 pm The FIRST Saturday of each month, 9 am - 12 pm
Side note to people who donate: Please do not donate trash. My husband and I only had one recliner, and wanted a couch but could not afford one. We found a couch here for like $25 and were very excited. We took it to our apartment, left our apartment, came back a couple of hours later, and our whole apartment reeked like urine. We bought cleaning supplies and tried to clean it, it wouldn’t come out. We had to take it to the dump. I know it was donated out of good intentions, but instead of helping us, in the end, it ended up costing us about $50, not including the cleaning supplies. There’s no way the thrift store workers knew, bc my husband and I didn’t know when we were checking it out inside the thrift store. We didn’t realize it carrying it to the truck. It took it setting in our apartment to realize it by smelling it.
Other than that, I’ve gotten pans here, nice China plates, pants, shoes, purses, books, baskets, a large mirror, earrings, shirts, jackets, house decor, all for next to nothing. This place has helped me so much. My husband and I moved out of state. Out of every place in Dillsboro/Aurora, we’re going to miss this...
