RC can be pretty intimidating to get into. You walk into this place, it's got a good inventory of parts, well as good as you can expect in this day and age. It can be overwhelming if you're just getting into it, or if you just bought something and are looking for some basic parts. Having a decent inventory is pretty standard as far as hobby stores go. After that, it really comes down to the employees. Unfortunately, that's where things get a little disappointing in my opinion. I came up, stood at the counter waiting to be helped, while I watched three employees gawk over one particular RC. Ignoring me. Then when I was helped, I asked a question and the attendant pointed me first in the wrong direction, then once I clarified on the vehicle I had, they then pointed me in a very generic "oh, this should work for your scale of vehicle." Good thing I knew better, because if I bought the package they were suggesting it would have being more expensive than necessary, and wouldn't have even gotten me halfway to my goal. That experience can be forgiven, but it was clear to me that next time I go, if there is a next time, I need to know exactly what I want because I'm not going to get somebody who's going to want to actually help me figure out what I need, and what my best options would be. When you work at a place like this you need to be aware that you're going to be working with people who know their stuff and don't need much help, and people who area just getting started and do need some expertise in order to make the right decision. Unfortunately, the guy I worked with definitely couldn't do that, or just didn't care and with my limited knowledge I could tell right away that I was going to need to find the answers to my questions somewhere else. I might consider giving them another chance, but with all the internet options out there, and the wealth of knowledge that comes along with the internet it really doesn't make it appealing...
Ā Ā Ā Read morehorrible customer service. was in there for just a standard battery for an ez start for a electric start for a nitro car, they dont even carry anything nitro related and they tried selling me on a $70 battery for it when they are listed elsewhere for $20 no one cared to show any interest in helping any customers while i was in there and were all chatting with themselves rather then trying to help customers while the store was empty cant say that im happy with the experience that i had while i was there and would rather just buy my cars and parts in salt lake or just buying online. forums would be much more helpful then asking these tools for any sort of advise or help and has not just been for this one visit into the store, it has been the past several times i have been in that i have been in that i was not helped in any sort of way. feels like they are more like after making a dollar rather then trying to help a customer when in the store. they tried telling me they had their cars priced lower then what traxxas had them listed online even though they are listed at the exact same price and tried telling me they would give me a discount if i bought a battery with the car then when i asked what the discount would be they said that they couldnt do one unless i did both a battery and a charger with the car. id wish rc frequency was still in business so i could give them my money, they were the best to work with as far buying local. never had issues with them and were always super helpful and willing to help customers and were eager to help and carried a wide variety of everything and werent just targeting electric models and werent arrogant with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had previously given Adrenaline a 5 stars but they are not what they once were. In moving locations it would appear that they lost some key talent on their team and the new employees are unhelpful, disorganized, and don't seem to understand the product they are selling. It's been weeks since the move and I still see more product thrown under the peg walls than there is actually hanging on display.
Pricing is also very inconsistent. Say Horizon offers a car on sale Adrenaline will NOT honor that price at the time of the sale. They will instead keep the price high and not take advantage of Horizons marketing. During the sale period the may or may not order some product at the reduced price and a few weeks later after the sale is long over you can come to adrenaline and you may find product marked super cheap as though its the every day price... For example I had to buy a SCX10 Pro kit online a few weeks ago when it was $229(instead of $429 normally) because Adrenaline would not match the price. Yesterday I went in and they had the kits marked at a "regular" price of $229, but Horizon's sale has been over for weeks. It...
