The first time I went in this particular store only new employees working, and they were quite unsure of how to help me as I was having to exchange something for my daughter who just moved to the area. This store in a very rural area with no other shopping places nearby. I was first told, even though I had my receipt, that I could only get a refund or exchange for the sale price it was at that time, which was only a 2 day sale and product had only been purchased 2 days before. Finally after having to keep repeating myself because I knew with the receipt, I should've been given full amount back on item, and after having to stand in line over an hour to get help as this is quite a busy store being only place in the area to shop, the sales clerk called an assistant manager whom is the one said could only get it at the sale price listed at that time. I finally told the employee I had worked retail for many years, and that was not correct, and after waiting on several other customers, she finally came back to me as I was still standing there waiting, I'm assuming she thought I was just going to leave or settle for that price, which I may have except it was $25 item, and I'm not going to let $25 go to waste when it can be used for my daughter and family whom is 9 months pregnant in their first new home. Long story short, she finally managed to contact a manager who very quickly told her since I had receipt I could get full refund back and how to go about doing it, which added another 20 min to time in store, but finally received my full refund. That was the first visit to that location. On my 2nd visit, again picking up items for my 9 month pregnant daughter, the visit went very well, and the customer service this time was exceptional with completely different person who went out of her way to make sure I had a quick enjoyable experience, and in and out in very quick time. I think it should be taken into consideration that new employees need to be properly trained on protocol, and/or have an experienced person working with them, especially in such a high volume store, so as not to hold others up when having to deal with situations as mine was that day. It was quite noticeable that other customers were getting annoyed at the wait time, although I had been there much longer than them. The store is clean, nice, and has a good selection of products for those in the area with no where else to go, just needs employees better equipped to handle the volume of the store, and any issues that may arise. As hard as I see the majority of those working for that chain of stores working, as is the same situation in my own small hometown, the employees aren't getting paid enough for all that they have to do, and hard as they work. I understand the managers make quite a bit more, but have heard that they too are on call pretty much all the time. Truly think if this company can keep opening as many stores as I have seen them open past few years, the people running and working for them should be paid enough to live off of, and have good benefits with plans in place in case of emergencies, vacations, and things like that. If that happened maybe the turnover rate that I see in these stores wouldn't be near as bad as it is, and see new employees working in them several times a month usually. This is a long review, but I'm just stating it as I see it, and from things I have heard and saw on my own while visiting these stores. I love the stores, but would love to see them do better with placement of employees, and being able to keep them there instead of the cost it takes to continue to train new employees...
Read moreIf you want basics such as bread, milk, and maybe some basic spices they will likely have that. Likewise, if you are having a movie night they have plenty theatre sized candy. However, anything beyond that is hit or miss with new brands and products coming in often, it is hard to know what they will ever have.
They are also terribly understaffed. I have been to this store more than a dozen times at different times and on different days and it seems to always be the same people working and there is usually only one or two people in the entire store. This means if they are busy at checkout you have nobody to help you in the store if you are trying to find anything. It also means that you may be waiting in line for upwards of fifteen minutes for a single item.
In a pinch, it will work, especially if you are local as there isn't much around. However, if you have an extra ~30 minutes to spare (round-trip drive time to the next nearest town) I would say to go elsewhere just to be sure you will get what you need and not have to deal with the inconvenience stemming from their...
