Let me begin by saying this store always has what we want, it's always clean and has some very friendly and kind employees. Five stars, hands down.
Today, however, was not the case, in regard to kind and friendly employees. "Cathy" in the floral department is certainly a person I hope to avoid. I genuinely believe in giving people grace and being kind to everyone, especially people in retail and the restaurant jobs, I've been there and done that, it can be dreadful. Today my 2 year old little love and I gleefully walked to the floral counter, like we've done time and time before, to be greeted by "Cathy". I greeted her and said "could we possibly get a kid balloon, please?" To which she replied: "We don't do that anymore". Confused, as we've gotten several balloons at this counter, I said "the dollar balloons? We got one a couple weeks ago". In a obviously aggrivated tone she said "Its a dollar fifty...because we lose money on the helium..." Picking up on her attitude, but still trying to be nice I said, "Right! That's totally fine! Could we please get one?" She turned and asked what color, opening the top drawer for her balloons. I said purple, which was in the second drawer and she grumpily, or so it seemed, shut the top drawer, got our purple balloon and proceeded to fill it/string it. She starts on to the second florist lady about how someone lost or took their printer to print out a tag so I could buy it, and to try and ease frustration I suggested that one of them could walk us to self check out to pay for it, which was shot down as she sent the second florist off up the stairs to fetch this machine. All the while, my soft spoken 2 year old is quietly asking "balloon please? Purple balloon please?" Watching this grumpy woman death grip her balloon, like we may steal it or something. Finally my toddler hollers out for it, I settle her as "Cathy" sets down the balloon on the back counter....... I'm annoyed, but still trying to be kind, I asked if it was okay for my toddler to hold it while we wait for the label machine. She's apprehensive, but agrees. So we keep waiting while "Cathy" is literally desperate to set this machine up to charge us $1.50 Finally the second florist (unfortunately I didn't catch her name, she has blond hair, it was pulled up, super sweet, total Disney princess vibes) told us that they were going to donate this balloon to us, I insisted that we could just go to self check out and have someone button it in for us, but she sweetly insisted. Her kindness certainly made my heart feel at ease, as I was on the verge of some real upsetness, not understanding why this "Cathy" woman held so much animosity towards me, but my very well mannered toddler as well. We thanked them and said we hoped they had a good day, and looking at "Cathy" she didn't say anything to us, just looked straight down at something on the front desk/counter, totally seething, you could just feel the bitterness. This is the first time I've ever felt like my child and I weren't just an inconvenience, but were totally disliked and unwelcomed by an employee here. We're big on balloons and flowers from here, but if "Cathy" is working we'll avoid it like the plague. All the other florists we've encountered, especially the second florist from today keep the joy for us in regard to this store, because of that second florist and her kindness we'll continue to be members of this particular store and of the floral department too. As my toddler is over the moon playing with her purple balloon friend, I'm sure to think of the kindness of the second florist, not the utter disdain "Cathy" had for us.
If it weren't for Cathy, 5 stars. I do recommend this store, but if you see Cathy, avoid floral, it doesn't matter how nice you can be, some people are just unhappy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love krogers and have shopped there since moving to the area. What is sad is I just witnessed a gentleman attempt to get fuel and wanted to use his fuel points but his card was not working for whatever reason. He tried to scan it and put his phone number in and when neither of those things worked he went to the lady at the booth who may as well have just said she didnāt want to help him. She told him to scan the card which already tried. She basically didnāt want to go outside probably because itās cold but Iām sorry that is part of your job to help the customer figure out the issue and assist them. When she told him to scan the card he said he already tried that and she asked him if he wanted to prepay he said no because he wants to use his points which she didnāt mention to him assisting in fixing that. He finally just said no That he would go somewhere else because she wasnāt gonna get out of her booth to help. She didnāt even so much as flinch to get up or say anything when he said that. There was no one else at the booth trying to purchase anything she could have done something. My husband went and tried to help and they couldnāt figure it out either so the guy headed back to the window as we were driving off and she finally came outside. It should not take an act of Congress for a gentleman to get help so he can use his points and get his earned discount in the fuel he is trying to purchase. I hope this lady does better...

I come for the groceries and the friendly partners at my local Kroger. 10-28-24 Taunya was very helpful and smiley at self checkout. Even though there were alot of us to help she moved smoothly and efficiently to take care of us all. Thank you Taunya. Glad you are part of Kroger's team of professionals. 10-27-24 This month MARIO in Pharmacy gave me my flu shot and my Covid Booster 2 weeks apart as requested. He was very gentle and I felt no pain at all. I love the quality of products and people at Kroger and the pharmacy is no exception. Also at self-check KAYLA went above and beyond to answer all of my questions with kindness and patience. Thank you Kroger for your team of professionals!April 2024: Loving Kroger more and more as I see the excellent quality of the products. For example, their frozen fruit is ripe and the stevia I like with erythritol is the most reasonably priced I can find (even online). It doesn't raise our blood sugar like some stevia mixed with dextrose. Also, the bath and body Kroger equivalents are...
