I donāt normally write reviews but here we go.. I have really enjoyed doing business with Rent A Center in the past but Iāve had nothing but issues with this location. I informed them I was going to be making a late payment and after confirming this over the phone they then immediately tried to take the payment anyways. The day before said expected payment was due I was called and spoke to someone over the phone who asked for payment immediately. I informed him that I was unable to at the moment but that I could call him right back or make the payment online as I was holding my twin infants who were getting increasingly frustrated with me and my hands were tied. The employee informed me that was not āhow this worksā and I needed to make a payment right now and asked him why and what was wrong as I did not understand the problem he then spoke louder over the phone cutting me off while speaking to me like as if I was hard of hearing and ignorant and this started to make me feel very uncomfortable continuing any further business them. I requested for them to come get their washer/dryer at this point. Which ended up as a win/win for us because we found a great set off of marketplace the same day anyways. I will add that whoever came to get our washer and dryer 30 mins after that phone call was very nice but then also informed my husband that Rent A Center is very shady and weāre better off not doing business with them. Today I called to make a payment for a friend (I'm a non customer) who needed help catching up on his payment. Not only did they try to charge me an extra $11 for a "benefit fee" for which he doesn't have on his account but also wanted to charge me $2 for paying over the phone vs coming in the store where I would use the same card, same payment method for no charge! Once I questioned the employee NICOLE about it and stated if you guys have a credit card policy it would be for both in store use and over the phone that doesn't make sense, she Hung up on me! I called back and asked her did she hang up on me and she lied and said the phone got disconnected. I called her a lie and she said look mam you have 2 options you either pay the $2 or come in the store and don't pay it. After I told her once again that doesn't make sense to me she stated " I don't have time to argue with you, now I'm hanging up". I was so appalled I didn't know what to do. The fact that I'm helping someone out, giving them my money and they want to have a bogus credit card policy is ridiculous! A real policy goes around the border not just one way! And we not gone even talk about the harassing phone calls...

Ive had one late payment where they gave me courtesy time to pay and when that time came i paid when i was supposed to. Few weeks later i needed to make another late payment just TWO days late so on Monday. The man on the phone told me thats not how it works and if i cant make a payment that day they were gonna come remove the bed so i said um its just two days and he said No. I said okay when can you come pick up the bed and he told me Tuesday which made no sense cause i was willing to pay on monday. Fast foward they still havent picked up the bed ive been the one calling them to remind them to come pick it up. Itās been going on for over a week. Also when they delivered the bed the person asked me to help unload the bed since they are short staffed but yet i cant make a two day late payment?
