Kate's Art School — Local services in Columbia Township

My daughter is about to start her 3rd year attending Kate’s Art School in the youth classes. She LOVES Kate’s art classes and looks forward to it every week. My daughter has learned so much more than just coloring. She’s learned techniques, textures, clay, annd how to make pictures with different art materials and so much more. Every time we pick her up Kate has a question on the board for us to ask my kiddo, and my kiddo answers by what she’s learned that class. Which I love the daily question because it shows me what she has learned as an artist. My second daughter just turned 6 and is going to start her 1st year of Kates classes soon. I am not your typical artist, I am a photographer by trade but am not very skilled with painting and/drawing. I have always wanted to learn. Kate is an amazing instructor. She walks you through the exercises and then has you work independently with help from her as needed. She is great at providing constructive criticism to help you learn but is very positive and encourages every student to own their individual unique artistry. The education she provides in each class although it is for beginner through advanced is college + level. I really enjoyed the acrylic art class I took with Kate, especially the progress I made over the course of the six classes. Kate not only celebrated our work, but was very helpful with her critiques as to how we could improve. She also facilitated our learning with lessons over multiple classes that addressed some common struggles with painting.
