$450 and 4 HOURS later — the cut and color were both TERRIBLY missed and I am so disappointed. (And she said I was getting a DISCOUNT!?!).

I went in with close to shoulder length hair wanting a feathery bob to even out some layers for a grow out. A grow out!!! I asked to keep it as long as possible. I asked for a little balayage to lift the look, and referenced the inspiration photo multiple times throughout our session. I also asked to keep my bangs long, past my eyebrows.

She used a razor on the back of my head. She cut so. many. short layers throughout. She gave me a pixie-like cut in the back. She cut my bangs shorter than I wanted. She did NOT follow my intended look at all and I did not feel heard.

When I left, I was stimming and upset.

I reached out to Crystal that night to see what we could do to at least fix the toner, and she said I’d have to pay to lift the bleach more and pay, again, for another toner. She mentioned having checked in with me during the session to make sure the toner she picked would be what I wanted. I continuously referenced the photo and told her that I trusted her to decide what was best. The photos of “THE RESULT” are what I went home with. I think it speaks for itself. She didn’t even try to make it lay like the photo reference.

When I asked for even a PARTIAL refund to get the bleach and toner fixed, Crystal said she does not offer refunds “as a policy.” I asked for her to send the policy, as I couldn’t find it online, but she never did. I sent multiple follow ups on the days following, trying to give her any chance to fix this (though I’m still totally grieving the length that cannot be given back.. I mean.. I can’t even pull it into a tiny pony tail or claw clip anymore it’s so short).

And.. WELL.. I guess the name of the salon is appropriate, because...

As someone who’s been coloring their hair platinum blonde for over 20 years, I’ve had a lot of highs and lows. Maybe the color was baller but the damage to the hair was extensive. Or maybe the hair felt fantastic afterward but the color didn’t quite pop or had hints of yellow or orange that no purple shampoo could help. For someone to get it spot on the first time coloring your hair; that’s rare! My blonde is Ahhhhhhhh! Perfecto! Crystal is a styling genius! So many positive things to say about my experience today! It’s the week before Christmas and she squeezed me in at the end of her very busy work day. A new client. The aesthetic of her room and her own personal eclectic style— the uniqueness of it all— makes you feel like you’re in the hands of a real professional artist. She’s confident in her craft. This girl is a good person. Through and through. Her heart is pure. Her passion for what she does is raw and exposed. She CARES. As someone who has traveled all over the world and has experienced the best and worst of customer service, I can whole heartedly assure you, this experience is world class. Always remember, you get what you pay for. You want the best, the price is premium. Reminds me of a quote from Aldo Gucci: “The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory.” Spend the money for her. She’s more than worth it.

Columbus doesn’t deserve this gem of a person/artist/professional, but I’m certainly stoked...

TLDR: Crystal is your person for a healthy fantasy color transformation!

I have wanted to have my hair a vibrant purple for SO LONG and I couldn't find anybody brave enough to do it. I finally found Crystal through a friend and after sending her some inspiration and my current hair, she was so excited to make this transformation happen! She was so careful to protect the integrity of my hair and do the bleaching in multiple rounds (why I included the pink picture. Pink is leftover from removing old purple). She did first round of bleach with an I lapped treatment and helped recommend products that were natural and didn’t have any yucky chemicals and sent me home with olaplex to help keep my hair healthy for the next round. The next round, she bleached some more, added the purple, and now we are living the full purple fantasy!!! The color is so vibrant and exactly what I envisioned (had to include multiple pics so you can see how vibrant it is)! She also gave me a cut that helped my curls spring up and framed my face.
