Global Meals — Local services in Columbus

Having tried many other services, Global Meals is the best by far. Other places have sent me vacuum packed individual servings. I suspect that was to cut costs, but who has handled my food? It was also thrown into brown paper bags. Global is more professionally packed.

Global meals has, what I would call "actual food". They often include Michelina frozen dinners, or deep dish Tony's pizza. Brand name stuff. Most everything has been very good. Most.

Personally I didn't like the plantains included in some meals. I also didn't like the subs. Hardly any meat, and the cheese is horrible. I gag just thinking about that cheese. Im not too picky, and I know theres gonna be stuff I don't care for, but overall I am very happy with the food. Love the pretzel wrapped hotdog! and the turkey, stuffing and potatoes are really good!! The worst ones are the "braised" meat with mango stuff, and their subs. Meatloaf sandwich is okay. BBQ pork sandwich is another eh. Not horrible, but not great.

I really want to give five stars, but I can't due to delivery. All the other companies that I've tried are able to deliver to me, on Friday afternoon, with usually a 30min window. Global meals is all over the place. As early as 11:30am, and as late as 3:30-4. Seems like a different driver each time too. I've had the service for a few months so far. They usually get everything okay. I've had a few times the driver said they ran out of milk, so he gave me double juice. That's fine, and I didn't mind, but... why did it happen? How did they run out of something I get every single week?

My last delivery was a little strange. They backed up and parked half in my driveway, and half in my neighbors. They sat there for 15 - 20 mins before getting out and walked to the back of the truck. Five min later she knocks on my door and said they must have forgotten my box. She apologized and got back into her truck. Sat for another half hour, then left. Not sure why she had to park for so long. just seemed weird. I got a phone call on Tuesday the following week, and they said I would get my box, along with another box, on my next delivery. I'm okay with that. Just happy I wasn't totally reliant on this food.

Drivers have all been nice. All polite and professional. Not one complaint. If driver turn over is a problem, I'd suggest raising the drivers salary for motivation and longer retention. Maybe bonuses for being on time, etc.

Food.. five stars. Administration and customer service... five stars. Delivery... 3.5 stars.

edit: Just had to say the "wheat" bread is fantastic!! I thought it was mislabeled or a mistake because it looks like white sourdough bread. But it really is wheat! and it is really...

I love the taste of 95% of the meals I've chosen. Plenty of choices and when I call in, the staff are kind and patient with me. I am very happy with them. I read some of the reviews and WOW, some of you need to move on! Global is NOT the only distributor of the "meals on wheels" type of food. I have tried several company's, and as far as taste or options, Global is best by far in my book. If you are expecting 5 star meals GOOD LUCK! They do try to please you and because you have NOTHING better to do or you have to give them bad reviews. Oh and one review I really enjoyed was "you won't change my delivery time or day" to make me happy. REALLY GUY? You were informed from the start what DAY your delivery will be. Not, day and time. I can tell that you have never had a job in food service OR dispatch. I have done both AND in pt care, so either make your OWN meals or call UBER EATS, and STOP your whinning!

I just started getting the meals they were great, haven't received my second delivery waiting all day called the next morning was told I was number 7 on the list never got it ,I called my case manager she got someone on the phone and they said my meals was delivered at 10:20 something don't know who's house got that food but it wasn't delivered to me, lady said she will talk with the drivers supervisor and get back with me , never heard anything ,I knew that they were closing soon so I called back , spoke to the same lady and in a not so good voice I was told your food will be there tomorrow...okay it's Friday when we talked and I know they are not open on the weekends...Thank God for my neighbor who helped me out with...
