Both my dogs were just recently groomed by Emma at Jen’s Nose to Tail in Hilliard. It was my first time going there, but it was not my first time with Emma grooming my dog. I don’t live in the Hilliard area so I wasn’t familiar with the location so I used both Waze and Google Maps to get myself there. The directions were accurate, but the main signage for the strip mall is not up-to-date so don’t go according to the big sign by the gas station. Jen’s Nose to Tail is actually located on the left corner of the strip mall next to the Sunoco gas station. When I walked into Jen’s Nose to Tail, I was greeted by Emma right away. The salon smelled really good and was very clean. There are places for you to sit inside while you are waiting. When it comes to my two pups, I have a Shih Tzu/Yorkie named Wadsworth and a dog I just adopted named Theodore who is a Havanese Maltese mix. Both of them have their own special needs. Wadsworth has a form of Bells palsy which prevents him from closing his left eye. Emma gave him a great cut that is cute but also helpful with his eye. This was my first time having Theodore groomed since I adopted him. He is a very sensitive and nervous dog. He just turned three and was recently surrendered by his previous owner due to his owner’s inability to care for him because of a recent permanent disability. I think Theodore has been traumatized by the whole situation since he gets very attached to people. Now whenever he goes for a ride in the car and goes to an unfamiliar place, he doesn’t trust that he won’t be going back home again. I explained the situation to Emma and she was very thoughtful and considerate of Theodore’s situation. I had shown her a picture of a haircut that I hoped he could have. She wasn’t able to give him the exact cut because Theodore was so nervous but she gave him a very cute cut which I am very happy.with. I am so glad that she didn’t try to please me by forcing Theodore to endure a traumatic Grooming experience. She told me that there were just certain things Theodore wouldn’t let her do and she wasn’t going to force it. I am very thankful for that. I highly recommend Emma at Jen’s Nose to Tail and I will...
Read moreI cannot say enough wonderful things about Sassy Dogs! The pricing is so reasonable compared to other places, I sometimes feel guilty. I try and stay on top of scheduling my appointments, but If I have a conflict, they have always found a way to get my boys in (I have gone other places where the groomer has cancelled and then can't get me rescheduled for another month!). Never once has Sassy Dogs needed to change an appointment. But, MOST IMPORTANTLY, their grooming service - I just can't say enough. The cuts are amazing and my boys always smell so good! They are rescues and one has separation anxiety. As soon as we arrive, they bark to get in the door and then are greeted with so much love! I love that when they are waiting for their turn, they are allowed to walk around and play with the other dogs. It is wonderful for their socialization! There are usually at least 4 or more adults in the room so I have never worried about them freely roaming. There is an area in the center that can keep them contained if a pup needs some time to adjust or is nervous. At other places, I could hear my boys barking as soon as I walked in the door because they were done and waiting for me. When I picked them up today, neither one wanted to leave. They absolutely love it at Sassy Dogs - it is so nice to drop them off and know they are happy, loved, will look great and be ready for a nice long nap when...
Read moreI'm livid. If you have a cat, this will not be the place for you. I booked my domestic long haired cat. I get there. They put her under as a dog??? How that happened is beyond me, but there was no communication on their end at all this week. Not even a welcome email or if they needed a list of shots. So I had to reach out and wrote them the day before saying she was a long haired cat and I wanted a lion cut- and nothing. So when we get there the girl at the desk leaves me and while she was gone I asked this young girl with long dark hair if they did cats, she didn't even say one word to me. Literally looked right past me the whole time I was there. Girl up front comes back and tells me they don't have a cat groomer so it already tells me they aren't professional. A good groomer does both. Period. It was a wasted trip, time and effort, but if our long haired cats get matted WE look like bad owners. Who freaking grooms cats...
