Rest Stop Hopkins County I-30 Westbound — Local services in Commerce

Lots of nice grassy area to walk around and stretch your legs. Lots of trees and brush for my dog to sniff and use up some energy. It looked like a nice playground with equipment for kids. Now the not so good things. I had to flush the toilet twice after just going #1. I heard others having to do this also. I had to flush from the previous user because they didn’t realize the flushing problem I wanted a bottle of water from their vending machine . It never showed it was out of stock. But the machine next to it showed it was out of stock Also, I put my card in several times. It never took. I put cash in and it didn’t take either. I then looked at the drink vending machine next to the one I was using. It stated it was out of stock like I previously mentioned. In this hot weather a cold water sounded good. Better job needs to e done with the machines. I hope I don’t have any charges for my invisible water. The women’s restroom was otherwise neat. The men’s restroom was tidy...

I got a question, why did you build a rest area? This Rest Area was less parking for truckers drivers, rv parking, if you look at how it build. You have enough room to build a bigger parking lot. For truck drivers and RV to park it be easier to find a parking spot. Truck drivers go down the road this rest area is not it, don't sell yourself just on this image of this place Pay attention, what come with this place, they give tickets 1-3 am in the morning, just looking out for the next truck driver, and we have to look out for each other out here, These Mayors, Governors and Police officers or State troopers. They're real do not care to look out for truck drivers in this sicialation. This place is a Parking Trap!!! Local cops see this as a means to screw over Truckers for Revenue! I parked out of the way in an unlined area, as I do at many Rest Areas throughout the USA, nothing was hash-lined off here, No “No-Parking” sign in this spot and woke up with a $200 ticket taped to my window! I walked around my truck, noticed EVERY truck that was parked just behind the trucks , or along to perimeter on the Right, ALL had parking tickets parked to their truck windows! Do not park in this lot! Send your tickets in with complaints! And this is in the county NOT in city limits, I don’t believe the town cop has jurisdiction here.
