Rented a scanner from RE electronics at the Bristol Race on 8/23.Scanner died, returned to kiosk to have it fixed.Got back to seat and it didn't work I rented a scanner at the bristol race. The scanner worked for about 10 minutes then died. I didn't know what was wrong with it so I decided to walk to the kiosk to have it looked at. I arrived at the kiosk where the gentleman told me the batteries were dead and he replaced them. This took a total of about 30 mintues to walk to the kiosk, stand in line and have it worked on. So I return to me seat and it breaks again. By this point I just wanted to return the scanner and get my money back. After standing in line for 15 minutes, I was able to return the scanner but the employee wouldn't give me a refund. He told me to call the number on the receipt and they would discuss a refund with me. Keep in mind, this trip took an additional 30 minutes so by the time I returned to my seat I had missed a full hour of the race dealing with this scanner. Once I got home, i called and left a message with the accounting department. Nobody called me on Sunday so I left another message. Nobody called me on Monday so I called again and was able to speak with an employee. She took my information and told me she would call back. She called back three times to get information from me and finally gave me her answer on Tuesday, 8/26. She told me the refund would not be given as I had the scanner for more than half the race. I explained to her that half of that time was spent walking back and forth from kiosk to stands but she didn't care. Only told me to wait for a call from Bruce Silver. Bruce called me back and explained to me that when he hears complaints like this he thinks the customer is trying to scam them. He didn't care that I was inconvenienced and it pretty much ruined the race for me. He told me that 75,000 people rented his product and I'm the only one who had a bad experience which is why he thought I was trying to scam him out of $37. I purchased a terible product and all I want is my money back. I'm being ripped off by Bruce Silver and RE Electronics. Bruce Silver was completely un-professional and extremely argumentative. After the race was shortened due to rain (even though the track was almost dry???) we proceeded to the racing electronics trailer to drop our scanners off. We arrived to a large crowd of people in several lines so we got in a line. Once we finally got close to the trailer apparently the line we were in was not actually where we were supposed to line upâŚthe older woman working the trailer was the most rude service worker I ever met!!! She was sarcastically yelling at people to move to the other line like they were idiots and making sarcastic comments even though there was no clear signs of where to line up. Once we got to the counter she yelled at us because we didnât just give them the scanners. Apparently you need to separate them from the headsets. Again no instructions saying to do thisâŚonce we had the separated we handed them to her in which she snapped them from our hands. We proceeded to hand her the headphones like we saw everyone else doing and she very rudely said like we were idiots ânoooo, donât give those to meâŚthey go in the binâ and proceeded to point to a bin near the trailer. This woman was the most unpleasant person we met on our whole trip. The way she made us feel stupid is unacceptable and completely ruined our night. We paid good money for the rentals and deserve to be treated with the same respect we give to them when speaking and interacting with them.    Read moreRented 2 scanners and 3 headsets for Bristol race. Only could plug in 1 headset on each scanner. Headsets were not adjustable and did not fit tight over ears. Gave us poor sound and not good âtrack noiseâ coverage. Did not check all this before race because you assume that you are getting good equipment! Used as we could. When returning the equipment I told them at the trailer that we had faulty equipment. Was given a voucher forâ next time rentalâ.... I called customer service the next week and they said a voucher is all they will giveâ-no refund to credit card. And that I should have retuned to their trailer during the race to get issues resolved. Who gets out of their set at BRISTOL???? If they are willing to come to me and fix the issue-great. But I am not getting up out of $100+ seat . So, just a heads up if you are renting their equipmentâ-they DO NOT REFUND ANYTHINGââ you just get a ânext time voucher. And if you are lucky enough to go to another race within a year, then I guess you can try again. But for usââwe lost out all the way around. Very disappointed that they are not better than that and that Bristol Motor Speedway (I reserved the scanners when I bought the tickets through BMS) does not hold them to a higher...
