Matthew and Greg have 110% earned my business, both dudes were extremely helpful over the phone. I have spoke with Matthew on a couple of different occasions to help with the installation of my Hydramax clutch kit, and he was even able to help calm me down(I was getting frustrated with some of the parts) while he was dealing with stress of his own, from it being a busy day. Matthew even took the time to call me back and make sure everything went alright as far as the installation went, which really meant a lot. Greg did an awesome job today helping me sort through a clutch issue, I had ordered a McCleod clutch from Brewers Performance, and the tech guy at McCleod had me so irritated that I was ready to sell their clutch and buy someone else's, I didn't want anything to do with them. I wish I would have caught that guys name because he should have approached me with a little more respect than he did. Greg was able to me through my issue like a tech should, he helped me find the proper clutch/pressure plate I need for my Nostalgia drag car, even though I can't afford it right now, I can guarantee you, that I will be placing my order with him. All in all, American Powertrain as a company has proven to me that they have some top notch staff, and I look forward to displaying their logo on my car proudly in the future. I just ordered my TKO 600 from Josh. He asked questions about my vehicle, how I wanted it to perform, and what I plan to use it for. He then solved a BUNCH of my problems with a complete installation kit.

I have a '66 C-10 long-bed and I'm converting from 6-cyl / 3-spd., to 8-cyl. / 5-spd., and I've always known that I was going to eventually run into trouble when it came down to driveshafts: too much distance for a 1-piece.....original 2-piece would have to be cut for a TKO 600, is small diameter, and wouldn't like V8 power.

Josh knew exactly what I was describing to him over the phone....he knew the bell housing, bench seat, 2-piece driveshaft, flywheel sizes, etc....he understood me completely!

He suggested (and I happily bought) an installation kit (with a custom-made, two-piece driveshaft) that is going to solve TONS of future headaches for me! They've thought of everything!

When you decide to buy your transmission, HONESTLY consider just how much time you're going to have to spend trying to hunt down all the cross members, driveshafts, clutches, wiring, etc., to make your custom ride into a reality.

Good Communication when ordering, parts received exactly as committed. New transmission installed and all working as expected at week 1. The only reason I am rating 4 starts instead of 5 is communication on the driveshaft.

When I placed the order I was told the driveshaft would take 2-5 days to receive once the form for the custom driveshaft was received. I installed the transmission and submitted the form. For the next 6 days I had no reply. I emailed my salesman on day 7 and was given the standard "we don't like to rush quality" line. When I emailed a second time and called explaining I needed an ETA to tell my installer and not tie up his shop- I was told 4 weeks for deliver. I cancelled the order for my driveshaft and found a local shop who delivered in 48 hours. The credit was posted promptly and Ross my salesman apologized. I would have given 5 starts if they had proactively notified me of the 4 week delay- not made me...
