Tobyhanna Commissary — Local services in Coolbaugh Township

My grandparents are both disabled. My grandfather served his entire adult life in the USAF. I drive them because he is missing a limb and my gram could not drive before she began using a cane. They are old-fashioned and write checks. I have to fill out the dollar amount because his hands lost function and she was a 50’s house wife who never had to write a check. The manager on a power trip stood behind me during the entire transaction watching me as if I was a felon. Then stating I was not allowed to write anything on the check with both of them standing there. How would she fare in the Korean War, Okinawa, and Germany? Please do not treat me as if I am a criminal when he served his country and spends a lot of money every month at your store. People like this female manager are the reason we have so many societal issues with veterans. Shame on her for discriminating against two elderly lifelong USAF loyal Americans and for me as I try to assist making their life easier. The guard let me onto the base, but I was unwelcome in the commissary because she is on a power trip. They have the best staff of any grocery store. Cashiers are super friendly and efficient. Not the largest store but always a great experience. One added thing the employees working in the store are wonderful.
