CTC is located at the corner of Clear Creek and Hwy 190 at the edge of Killeen. They get students from all over the US. I had nothing but wonderful teachers there in the Medical Lab Tech program. They have a planetarium as well as a duck foundation. You can grill and sit at picnic tables also where the ducks are. Great picture area also. They have a nice upgraded bookstore. There are also dorns and family housing available.

If you're in the military, Central Texas College is the easiest and cheapest way to earn an associate degree. Most classes don't even require you to purchase textbooks, you just show up to class and do the assignments to the best of your ability. It's a foolproof way to earn a diploma!

I have been enrolled with CTC for almost a year and a half. My issue started as I was five months into trying to complete my education with this school, so it will be almost a year next month, total, where I have been having issues with CTC submitting the correct information to the VA so they (CTC) can get paid ( I am using Post 9/11 benefits). If you are a veteran BEWARE!!! The quickest solution for the school to get you off the phone is to tell you that it's the Dept of VA's fault, that's if they answer your call after you have left numerous messages. In my case it took them almost 2 months to fix an error from the previous year that was already fixed that prevented me from enrolling into the following semester (Spring II). During that time it was constant calling the school with no answer (they finally answered the phone when I went to the Fort Hood Campus office and the secretary from Student Records allowed me to call from her phone, that they actually picked up!), your last resort is to email the staff and that will take at least a week for them to respond. When they do not answer your call, you will need a VA Case Manager to call and leave a message (THEY WILL RETURN THEIR CALLS)! In my case once they fixed the first error (around April/May time frame) the very next day I checked the student portal on Webadvisor ( to enroll in the next semester), I had a brand new debt, that again was the fault of the school!!! My last enrollment with CTC was Spring I, next month will be the FALL semester, this is how long I have been going back and forth with the Supervisor of the Business Office, the guy who used to work for Veteran's Finance with the 3 minute message that goes straight to voicemail, and the Asst. Financial & VA payments. This school has repeatedly sent the wrong information to the Dept. of VA since February (That's how long I have been dealing with THIS issue)!!!!! Just recently the Supervisor of the Business Office had the audacity to send me a letter in the mail stating " May I suggest you send a cashier's check or money order" and then they can "clear" my account. Then states "if I feel this is an error, please contact us at the number listed below before this escalates to avoid your account being placed at collections"...REALLY! As of today, July 6, 2018, CTC has yet to send the correct information!!!! All this time going back and forth with CTC and the Dept. of VA telling me over and over that they still need the correct information in order for the school to get paid, I could have completed my degree being that I only need 15 semester hours !!!! It seems like you have to submit a negative review in order for someone to respond, that could possibly help...I guess I have to...

UPDATE 04/28/2022: Had to go to this testing site again at CTC for another test. The check-in lady this morning actually told me that if I wanted to keep my sweater on I had to have it zipped up and LEAVE IT ON; I WASN'T ALLOWED TO TAKE IT OFF APPARENTLY. I've taken Pearson VUE exams at other cities and I've never, ever been told this. How ridiculous is that?! I was spoken to like I was a child - there are no testing regulations that state you can't take off your jacket. Does leadership know how awful the testing center is run here? I've taken many Pearson VUE exams and not one site proctor has told me I can't take off my jacket. Empty pockets, sure, but never not being allowed to take off jacket and having to keep it zipped up.

I will never go back to this testing site. DON'T GO HERE FOR TESTING - THEY TREAT ADULTS LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN.

This review is specifically for the Testing Services Center and my visit on July 12, 2021. I was there for an 8:00am exam. The CTC signs and the PVU website state that the center opens at 7:30am. This was not the case when I arrived at 7:45am. There was a large line of people waiting. Businesses need to follow their posted business hours or update their information if hours are changed.

While waiting for the office to open a man came out and introduced himself as the Director of the Testing Center. He then proceeded to warn the group of students (all adults, I might add) about proper behavior and that we were on camera and that they wouldn't argue with us and that the police would be called if necessary.

I was appalled at this and could tell that others were as well. This director said that there was an "incident" the week before with another person. Well, if that was the case then that should have been kept between the person and the testing center. There was no need to threaten and lecture a group of adults who were there to take exams in the early morning and treat us like criminals. I'm a teacher and if I had spoken to my students like this before they took a major test I would have been disciplined.

There are a few very nice, helpful staff in the testing center but during my last three visits in the past two months I've been very disappointed in the very slow check-in times, lack of opening when they say they'll open, and rudeness. I strongly recommend choosing other testing locations...

How many times does my Blackboard need to get reset cause my password won't save? Every time I login.

How many times have I shown up to the Admissions Office just for them to "close" for no reason during normal business hours? A lot.

How many times have I needed to know important dates like course drop or withdrawal deadlines only for them to always say "that was last Friday"? Every semester.

How many times I needed a counselor to walk me through my academic plan but they're unavailable? Several times.

How many times do I get a hostile attitude from Pamela in Registration when asking for information? Always.

Does calling them ever work? No.

Does Blackboard work? Only on my personal devices sometimes; never on the school's.

Does Eagle Self Service work? I get an error saying I can't login.

Is setting up FAFSA or other financial aid an easy process? Depends on if they file your paperwork correctly.

Want to use your VA or GI Bill benefits? Let me get back to you on that one.

Need tax documentation for filing last years taxes? Forgot to make that year available for you on ESS.

Want to take a fun class like Film Appreciation? Sorry there's a 20 page wait list. See you in a few years.

Want to pursue an interesting class because it sounds nice? Sorry but you must be an Active duty, reservist, or veteran of the military to access this class. (Always empty by semester start; never opens to the public)

Paid and registered for a class but can't find it on start day? Lmao that class was canned due to lack of students but I'm not going to notify you when that happens free money.

Can't register for classes remotely because you're stuck on academic probation and need to register for classes? Sorry you need a counselor to register for you, but we don't have one available they're on vacation. Buckle up you're gonna be here for a while.

Need to register for classes while on academic probation but need the last up to date transcript to do so? Wait like 2 months after the end of last semester and we'll get back to you.

Want a study environment with like minded people and adults? Most of the students are early college high...
