I must agree with others here that the employees sure seem unhappy. Today I will be taking the lead of another here to travel farther to Paris Farmers Union, though I've not been there before. I prefer to shop where the purchase is mutually enjoyed and is considered beneficial. At Metcalf's, I believe the employees would rather folks not shop there, in order to reduce their workload. Why this is tolerated by management is a mystery.
I believe all will best be served today by my going a bit farther to buy my farm and garden supplies. I am certain it will be a win-win both for myself and for the employees at Metcalf's who would rather treat their customers with disdain and talk with sullen responses when a customer greets them or asks a question. I've purchased from Longhorn and Tractor Supply before, and a standard bag (can't recall the weight but I wanna say it's like a 40-50 lb bag?) usually ran me $20-$30. It was going to be $20 at Ace.
