Villas of Ocean Drive — Local services in Corpus Christi

This place does not deserve even one star! Luxurious lifestyle on ocean drive? Is it a joke? I currently am shopping for a place to live in Corpus Christi. I have visited few apartment complexes there ,and the villas at ocean drive was by far the least pleasant of all. The leasing office is a temporary, disorganized place. I had an appointment for 3 PM but arrived about 30 minutes early since I don't know Corpus Christi and had no idea how long it will take me to get there. My appointment was with woman name Abby, and she was not present at that time. Right away I was reminded by her coworker I am too early and was not expected at that time. Two other ladies were busy chatting so I guess My early arrival was a bother. Abby showed up few minutes later but was totally not prepared for my appointment. She had no clue what is available at the momen, etc. They don't have a one bedroom model to show, she did not even know what can she show me and had that discussion with two other coworkers while I was sitting there and waiting. Finally she took me to the different size and layout model unit. Entire complex is under construction so residents are living in this mess for a past year. Hallways look like an industrial wearhouse and do not remind me of a luxury living at all.Club house , fitness center, and pool are not finished so they offer passes to the fitness place 1,5 mile away. Abby was annoyed with questions I asked and at the end did not even say goodbye, not to mention thanking me for visiting their place. Leaving that place I had a really bad taste in my mouth and no idea what one bedroom apartment would look like or where would it be located. Would not recommend that complex to anyone. Don't...

Upon move in, the manager let someone park their trailer in the loading zone overnight prior to her move to California the following day. This made no sense knowing someone was about to move in that evening from Dallas. The A/C vents were utterly rusted and covered in mold. The carpet was so dirty and used that my feet turned black from walking in it the first month of my residency. I had to pay to get my carpet shampooed, because it was disgusting and the office staff just brushed the issue over. The light bulbs were all different wattages when I moved in. The bathroom sink had water erosion. The elevator closest to the apartment I leased was out of service for at least a year of my residency. The fitness center never was cleaned for the 2 years I utilized it. Dust covered the window sills and cable boxes. Peoples vehicles constantly were broken into and packages were constantly stolen in the 2 years of my residency. The security cameras did not work when my neighbors truck got broken into (probably still doesn’t work). A homeless person lived inside a storage closet on site. The staff in the office were always extremely rude, unwelcoming and unprofessional. The only staff that were great were the 2 maintenance guys (who are a team) who were recently hired on. Prior to their employment , I had a numerous amount of maintenance issues that took months to resolve. In fact i had to call several times to follow up on the tickets just to be told “they’re extremely busy”The pool never was cleaned. Pool furniture was always rusted, worn out and dirty.

The Villas of Ocean Drive is the best apartment complex you can find in Corpus Christi. Myself and other doctors/nurses from my hospital live here as it is right by the water, has a sufficient gym, luxurious interior, amazing staff. The place is very safe and protected, which is very important if you are new to South Texas like myself.

Jenny is a great manager and she makes sure everyone follows rules to keep this apartment complex a safe community. I see the reviews left by some fake profiles created by one person that was removed from the property. I really appreciate how strong the management is to keep this complex safe.

I continue referring my other physician friends here and they love this place!

One bedrooms are large with a spacious bathroom (2 sinks), granit counters, balcony with an ocean view, bike rack, closed parking space and trash valet service without extra charge. The location is very convenient, very close to the largest grocery chain (HEB).
