I was there on December 3rd and had a horrible experience. This was my first time at wonders and i was really excited given they had really good reviews and specials that night. Nadia and Anissa are some of the rudest bartenders I’ve ever met. I ordered “Grey Goose and sprite” and Anissa yelled at me saying “WE DONT HAVE GREY GOOSE” She then rudely told me her top self vodka after i asked her to name them. I then ordered Belvedere Sprite. She went back and fourth with me saying soda and on the third time i said sprite she rolls her eyes and raises her voice again saying it’s the “same thing” I walked away from the bar leaving my friend behind being completely embarrassed and off put by the entire encounter. My friend then proceeded to hear Nadia and Anissa talking me saying she’s “a handful” and “if you’re broke just say that “ Immediately after Nadia came out from behind the bar and asked me “are you good” in a very hostile way not in a friendly manner. she then goes back behind the bar and continues to stare me down and make faces at me. Making me feel all around unwelcome and uncomfortable in this bar. I’ve been a bartender for a few years in what is considered to be “fine dining” I would never consider treating patrons like this. calling me “ a handful “and “broke” was just completely unacceptable. It was only my 2nd drink by that point so I was not drunk or even tipsy. I left immediately after that drink. It seemed like a fun place to hang out but Anissa and Nadia completely ruined that being unfriendly, unwelcoming, and...
Read moreAfter having dinner at Texas Flame house, my husband and a colleague of mine decided we would go have a cocktail since the restaurant we were at closed at 10pm and we arrive about 9:15 we did not stay to have a cocktail there. I googled places near me open Wonders bar popped up and I thought well I've been there once to watch a Dalas Cowboys game and it's small and cozy why not. We arrive and of course I hear the so called thug music but I'm not gona judge in advance we proceed in and the polite young man at the entry of this establishment tells my husband they don't allow anyone with tattoos on the head or neck!! I said to the young man, first of look at what we are wearing compared to what was already in the establishment....he said I understand another young man passes us on his way OUT with a huge neck tattoo!! I SAID WOW!! Nevertheless we left went next door and enjoyed couple of drinks at the Keg room and had a great conversation with Amber B ...nice ga, By the way the tattoo on the head is an angel whispering in the ear. I did ask the young man at the door for the owners name and he refused. I am a business owner in Corpus Christi and zi would never not service anyone because of a small tattoo it's a form of...
Read moreLate-Night Gem! We were struggling to find food late at night and everything else was closed or just fast food. I saw this bar online and noticed they stay open 'til 2am, so I called to check if the kitchen was still open (closes at 1:30am, by the way). So glad we went!
We ordered the steak nachos and wow they were way better than your typical bar food. The steak was super flavorful and actually juicy and well seasoned. Also got the jalapeño poppers, and they were crispy, creamy, and had the perfect kick.
The bartenders were super friendly, which made the experience even better. Honestly, everything hit the spot. Great late-night find....
