Always Love getting my produce and Meat groceries here, always fresh. Im always satisfied with how local the produce is during the seasons and I also understand how the meat department works and where they get there product. Another rgreat thing about the meat department is if you find a product you like you have the option to ask the meat department to cut up specificly how you would like, like when i buy a beef tenderloin or a whole (unfrozen) turkey, they more than happy to do me that courtesy. So thats always a go to. Prairie Center is Conveniently located a few miles from my homestead, and the only store between oak harbor and freeland, but as Prices may be a bit higher and to be expected as its the only grocery store between oak harbor (14miles north) and freeland (south). During this covid pandemic, Prairie center has taken close measures to make sure every customer is well spaced apart and created a line separation system that works great. They have hired someone to tend to disinfecting each hand cart/buggie and the staff are always wearing masks and gloves. Another great option using this store, is if you cannot find a product your looking for you can request it, and you can also order cases of items if they are able to get it in from there wearhouse. Did I mention, Prairie Center serves Hot deli items from bbq ribs, Mac n cheese, rotisserie chicken, meat balls, meatloaf, lasagna, wings, and more. (Items may vary by day) Prairie center also encourages local vendors by carying there products on shelves ranging from locally organic farmed honey to Skagit 3 flavored salsas, to even carying raw and organic glass milk. They seem to have a little bit of everything your looking for with also a great variety of wines and liquor section available. They do sell a small selection of tobacco for those who need it. So go ahead and stop on by, take a gander, and see what perks your interest! Hope...
Read moreSome stuff is greatly overpriced but it’s a cute store and the staff are friendly. The baggers need more training though as he literally loaded up a single paper bag with the meat at the bottom then cans and other items thrown in to where it was close to 20lbs smashing anything in the bag. I compared buying certain items online vs here and I left with a small basket since most of the items are cheaper to have delivered to my home ($6+ for 3oz black pepper?! Not even organic) the variety is pretty good for how small it is though but they definitely don’t have a large chicken section mostly red meat and they don’t have anything but frozen fish which is odd for it being on an island surrounded by water. A few tweaks would make this such a great...
Read moreThe small town charm cuts both ways. Yes, they are friendly, but sometimes that leaves you standing looking at the unattended registers waiting to buy your groceries while all the employees are off somewhere being friendly to everyone. I live nearby and stop here out of convenience sometimes. About every 8th time I have a frustrating experience and stop coming here. After Six months or so I stop in again out of convenience and have a few good experiences, then another bad experience and I swear off the place again. I would prefer if they were less friendly and just more professional...
