1st Visit - GREAT - Nice folks, quick service, nice decor.
2nd Visit - POOR - Stood at the counter with 20 bucks, just needed a cup for drip coffee (Easy Order) ... and stood .... and stood .... finally got acknowledged as even being there and told "Hold on a sec, I'll be right with you". Then I stood ... and waited yet more ... I think I was standing there for 60 "secs". I took my 20 bucks and sat down with my friend. You blew it today; ignore your customers and they will ignore you. Maybe next time ... maybe.
UPDATE - Thank you for your reply -- however -- I'm a big guy and hard to miss (and a small-biz bakery owner, I understand everything going on there). One of your staff was behind the prep station facing me (Visit 2.0). Other staff members were in/out of the back area to the right. This was not a lack of realizing I was there, this was not one face in the crowd as I was the only person there, at least as I see it was a staff issue. Baring some greater issue that needed attending to, it doesn't take that long to say 'Hi, we'll be with you soon." &/or it's not that difficult to say to a coworker 'Hey, can one of you please help this customer' ... before I became a not-customer. Talking with your staff again(?) about punctuality with your bipedal income source I would say is imperative -- as with failing you when they fail...
Read moreThis was our favorite place for coffee (really, really good) and food. There are plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. They will take your reusable coffee mug and also offer real silverware as a matter of course (they also have a lot of plastic in plastic, like straws and silverware, which was frustrating but at least they give you options). Vegan burrito was gargantuan and filling, and the vegan oatmeal "cookie pie" with vegan butter was better than any dairy-based dessert I've had.
The only things I would add are twofold: like another review mentioned, I did hear the owner correct a worker rather strongly: it wasn't enough to really get me riled up, but it was enough that I noticed (that should be backroom discussions, otherwise it can embarrass employees). The other item is kind of related: the owner only wears a mask when she comes up front, and there's not much distance between front and back. So, while I was far enough away from her that I felt safe enough, I kind of wondered what her staff thought (they have to wear masks consistently, but she doesn't?) Again, it's a bit related to power. The mask mandate will be lifted soon, so...? But, I see masking as caring, so...
Read more04/18/23 Update: This morning, we went to Sunshine Drip with great anticipation (see below line). Sadly disappointed. Initial order was taken incorrectly, but only discovered the error after initial charge was run when cashier then restated the incorrect order from the receipt. With wife's order clarified and charge corrected, it took almost 10 minutes to get our coffees (no other coffees served in front of ours). Both my Mocha and wife's Latte tasted like hot water with barely any taste of coffee or flavoring. So bad, we ended up just dumping both. Could have been just a bad day, but reducing to 2 stars, from previous 5, due to today's coffee drinks. No longer recommended. Note: Food may (?) continue to be good.
Highly recommened for both coffees & food items. Wife said her Americano was best she's had. The Mocha I had tasted like they used milk chocolate which I don't usually like, but this drink was so good I didn't care! Wife loved her Whidbey Cuke (?) Avacado Toast. My Biscuits & Gravy was best I've had in a long time. All staff were very pleasant and efficient.
Again, best coffee drinks anywhere on Whidbey over...
