I walked an hour from where I was staying to see this. Although it showed on Google they'd be open, they were not. After walking around the house, I was approached by somebody who informed me they had "personnel issues" that day and had to close. The 3 people who were there were busy with maintenance tasks, but 1 took the time to open up the house and give me and another gentleman the tour. It was $8. The house is a remarkable example of 18th century construction. The furniture, not all original to the house, were all classic colonial pieces. Overall, a remarkable place. I only knew it was there because of a sign on the highway. It was a great way to spend my time.

Was there for Independence Day 2024. God Bless America!!!😊❤️💯 It was AWESOME!!! This man was one of the key players in The Revolutionary War. a hero and a native Rhode Islander so it was a very moving experience to be there. The docents here are extremely knowlegable about the General . The restoration of this home and grounds are impeccable. When you step onto the grounds it's like taking a step back in time. It's a great place for families, couples and history buffs alike. When you're there, don't forget to stop in the gift shop. The proceeds go towards maintaining the upkeep and restorations which are ongoing.

Please do not miss this wonderful piece of history. The grounds and the house are well kept to the era! Better than all of this, these all volunteer docents are a wealth of knowledge and bring the heritage and history to life! Nathanael Greene is a great American hero and his families legacy only lives on with strong education and those who attend to this hidden treasure in the hills of Coventry, RI

My kids recently came home from school and told us they had a visit from Nathaniel Greene and he told them about himself. They were fascinated he was from Coventry. We called and the caretaker was so accommodating and a offered to allow us to visit on a day it is not open. She was awesome! We spent a hour and she answered so many questions that the kids had. What a great opportunity to experience some local history. It should be said, I've lived in Coventry for 20+ years. It took my 9 and 6 year old daughter's wanting to learn to encourage me to visit this historical gem. I encourage you to take an hour, you won't...
