This Has to be absolutely one of the worst places to come to - I try to stay local so I’ve done this particular place 7 times now I try to give places the benefit of the doubt sometimes they just have a bad night or it’s just super busy and you get jammed up that is not the case here !! No matter how early you get here no matter how the parking lot looks it could be completely empty and there’s only two trucks there you will be sitting here 7/8/9 hours to be unloaded- It is complete insanity I have been to this location the parking lot is empty only two other trucks and it still took them seven hours to get me unloaded with paperwork ! Today’s another one of those days seven hours unloaded lumber is paid go in the office find out what’s going on with the paperwork and they tell me they still have to go looking through expiration dates I’ve been empty for 5 hours and there still not done with the paperwork! Meanwhile in the office there’s people laughing and having a good old time Not only behind the glass but also at the lumper table it’s a congregation of the guys that work inside unloading the trucks just hanging out laughing cracking jokes doing absolutely nothing I was just in their office and counted seven guys literally doing Nothing!! —— this is the last time I’m going to come here it’s a complete waste of your time a complete lack of respect for the drivers - Stay away from this location at all cost all the bad reviews are 100% true - I would also like to add while you’re sitting here for hours no bathroom! there’s a small Porta John across the parking lot that’s disgusting If you are one of those poor unfortunate souls that have come to purgatory because that’s what this place is -make sure you have food water and survival essentials while you’re being held hostage and don’t get fooled by the huge parking lot out front thinking that if you run out of hours and you have somewhere safe to park at -NOPE ! they run you out and tell you to go park out by the road - by the thousands of 2 to 3 foot deep potholes That are essentially portals to Hell and Are just waiting to destroy your trucks suspension! Drivers beware...
Read moreI normally don’t leave reviews. This needs to be known so other drivers and freight brokers are aware. I arrived at 11:15pm for a 2am delivery appt. Checked in at guard shack was told to wait for a phone call. Stayed up until appt time and went to check on status, was told again to wait for call. I fell asleep and got up at 5am to check phone (no missed calls) and was told that they were done for the shift and I would be unloaded next day. Day shift told me they would take the guys waiting from previous night first. They only receive from 9pm until 5am. Next evening same thing. Broker offered $250 for layover🤣 Since load was -20 frozen I probably burned $150 in fuel alone. After we offered the broker with returning the product or finding cross dock, they finally called me at 9am and gave me a door. This isn’t normal because they’re handling other responsibilities on day shift and have to move workers off those duties to unload trucks. As I said they don’t accept deliveries during day shift. Was unloaded and paid lumper in 3hrs. Got my bills by 1pm. After speaking with employees inside and security personnel, there’s a lot more to this story. They’ve been doing this for the last 4-6weeks. Basically using carriers as free cold storage. I saw the inside of the warehouse floor and it was stacked completely full. Hardly room for the tow motors to maneuver. This is coming from the top down, not the broker, not the Americold(Wakefern) employees. Wakefern continues to have product sent here knowing they don’t have the room to store it. Just be reasonable and understanding of this when communicating with the workers and if you accept a load coming here be mindful of this. I lost a lot of money and over 36 hours of sitting here with two porta John’s and no food. I felt especially bad for the truckers with their spouse and children in truck with them. I couldn’t imagine that. That being said, I’ve come here in the past and have been unloaded in a somewhat reasonable time frame on...
Read moreThe only good thing about this place is they give you a place to park out in front of the facility..... after your delivery there's a 50% chance you'll be ran off the property .
9 out of 10 times delivering here You'll spend at least an hour or two outside the facility after your appointment schedule.
Then you'll get a phone call pull back up to the guard shack and usually receive your door number and your check-in slip ...
Park in your dock door... Make sure you open your doors if... guard instructed you to do so.....sometimes they stage you with your doors closed in front of the dock ... You still check in at door 35 regardless. After that you'll probably be waiting another 2 or 3 hours before someone comes out to tell you to open your doors and back into your dock or before they even start to unload you one or the other. .....
Either way expect to spend at least 8 to 12 hours at this facility to get unload if you are here shorter than you hit the lottery. ....
Also by the way for restrooms ......
They only have a single porta potty available at the far end of the warehouse right when you turn in from the guard shack.... There's also two porta potties in the initial staging area parking lot outside of the...
