Uncle Dale's Produce — Local services in Covington

This farmer's market is such a beautiful one. The two people that have waited on me the last few times, are extremely knowledgeable. They help you to find the items that you love best. The produce is always gorgeous and top of the line. The gentleman that runs Uncle Dale's even brought out his delicious steaming hot fresh boiled peanuts. Talk about good, wow!!! They also have a variety of canned items, jelly, preserves, pickles, and such. I've purchased several of them and they are fabulous. So good that I made several more trips over 30 miles just to go to Uncle Dave's to get the best of the best. Prices are very fair!! Uncle Dale's has a nice display area. We wanted green peanuts to take back to South Dakota with us to boil. The bags were in a refrigerator case,, and we were told to keep them in the air conditioning so they wouldn't spoil. I bought cracklin's, $8 for a quart bag, because I have not had any in yeeeeeaaars. I bought a $7.00 bowl of okra instead of a $8.00 jar just because I think I will can my own and have a few jars.

The stand had watermelons, peaches, and many other items. Unfortunately, I knew if the okra were put in a plastic bag, they would sweat. Sure enough, I checked this morning and had to ask our hostess for paper bags in which to put the okra; I would have preferred to have them...

Went to buy strawberries today. We were buying a $16.00 basket. There were 6 or 7 strawberries that looked bad. So we asked the guy selling them if he could swap them out. He told us to do it. A lady came along who I assume is the owner and grabbed them out of our hands three back in the basket and pretty much talked to us disrespectfully. I will never go back there again.
