“as christians we’re meant to be in the world but not of it” this is is hands down one of the most eye opening things i have heard since i have started my walk with God, and i have had quite a few losing people being the biggest ones. everytime I lost someone my first instinct was “I need change”. I lost my MiMi and I started going to church with my bestfriend. I lost myself and my faith and everyone told me to take the next step and everything will get better. so i did, i got baptized for the first time and because of who I had become and the people I surrounded myself with, one of the happiest moments of my life became the worst. i questioned my self worth as a person and began to wonder why am I even a so called “christian”. Then one of my best friends quit reaching out and we had gone from seeing eachother almost everyday to not even texting in months. This time I truly realized what baptism should look like and I talked to my friends and told them that if I’m being honest with myself the 1st time I got baptized was for the wrong reasons. So, on February 13,2022 me and one of my bestfriends got baptized together. This is it. This was my moment. I was going to turn my whole life around starting now. isn’t that what everyone thinks? i definitely thought it but never put the action behind my words. i fell into anxiety and believed the lies people around me were telling me and lies the devil told me on a daily basis. why could I not break the chains? because that’s what God sent Jesus to do. i realized that the change I needed to make all along was turning to him in tribulations. i realized I CAN live without some people in this world, i CAN live without some things in this world. all of it is temporary and my relationship with my God is everlasting. as much as it pains me when someone walks out of my life or when i have to walk away from something i love so deeply I’ve learned to let go and let God. this is all apart of our “grace fueled effort” as christians, pick your people, flee from sin and fight the world.
