I don't want to say run away from this gamestop because everyone can do what they want. But I do recommend to the people- don't come to this gamestop in Crystal Lake. Not only has the store manager Carissa, ignored me every single time I've been in the store with my fiance, (only talks to him) and hasnt and will not say even hello to me. She doesn't even know me btw, I've only ever been a customer for gamestop. Carissa is the most Callous person you'll ever meet. She doesn't care if you are disabled, as she treated a former disabled employee very poorly. She doesn't care if you have kids, as she wasnt careful with covid, still worked the whole day knowing she was exposed and the former employee brought it home (the father), infecting our 4 month old at the time. She also knew we had a 4 month old baby at home. (We had to bring him into the emergency room due to breathing problems). She than proceeded to to be mad at the father for getting upset that she decided to work the whole day knowing she was exposed. Another employee said she figured out she was exposed at work and still proceeded to do nothing. She takes the day off on random days telling some employees, "she needed a mental health day" but will joke with other employees that she didn't come in because she was too hungover. So expect a sporadic work schedule because she will expect you to work the full day, 11 12 hours because she was too busy drinking the day before. Expect never to spend time with your kids, (she thinks having nieses and nephews are the same thing btw) and will belittle your situation, no matter what it is. So in other words don't work here if you have kids and or a disability. She is extremely inconsiderate, impolite, domineering, and arrogant. I can honestly go on but I won't. I contacted cooperate and HR, I know the district Manger Brett will not do anything due to other employees reporting lists and lists of things she has done. He has brushed it off creating a lovely God complex and treats gamestop as her very own toy store. Read moreAweful! Max over charged my kids for a used unit. He took in a trade on 3 controllers and a fully functioning xbox live and sold them a USED xbox one with one controller. They paid more money than a new unit sells for. And the new unit isn't reading all games! Totally take advantage of a young consumer (16 and 14). Wish I would have been there, as I was at work. Then when I called to complain, Steve his manager (sure) was rude on the phone, and helped others in store WHILE I WAS TALKING! What customer service. Read moreWent for a Pokemon release and the staff dressed like Team Rocket for the kids. I had my son with me and we both loved it. That extra step goes a long way. What great staff, kind and earnest. They were also well organized. Kept the line moving while still being friendly. Great experience. My only complaint is that GameStop charged a premium for the Pokemon products. They added 10 dollars to the ETB and a dollar to the individual boosters.
