Extreme Noise Concern Stevens Creek Reservoir is a beautiful place to hike or enjoy a boat ride. However, the extreme noise produced by the gas-powered generator used at the inspection station for boats, paddleboards, and kayaks is unbearable. This noise disrupts the experience for visitors, disturbs the natural habitat and wildlife, and cannot be healthy for the employee working next to it all day. It is unclear why such a loud generator is necessary. Connecting to the power grid or using solar energy would be far more sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. I measured the noise level at 96 decibels—this is unacceptable in a natural recreation area. The generator’s roar carries across the reservoir, ruining the peace and quiet that people come here to enjoy. This must be addressed. I plan to report it to the county and other authorities, because such noise is not in line with protecting nature and ensuring a positive visitor experience.

A fantastic place to take a very easy hike through the woods with some areas with very decent shade. Plentiful parking and currently FREE! Love the large expansive body of water and the trail keeps along the reservoir and the creek to keep your mind refreshed. Not too many visitors past the initial trail so if you want a more socially distanced walk, definitely continue along form the initial parking area.

The water level like at all reservoirs very, but on a very dry year you can come up here and see the importance of saving water. I posted this for the fishers out there that wondered what the bottom looks like. Sorry not very interesting year of silt have made it pretty barren...
