Let me put a REAL review I don’t know who they are paying for the reviews. Do NOT let your family move into this FILTHY unorganized facility. Working there for 1 year and 2 months I’ve seen ALOT! I’ve seen nurses sleep on shift nowhere to be found when it’s an emergency they are either in nursing station or in their car sleep refusing care to certain residents if their not a “favorite”..residents end up with black eyes and bruises with no explanation they label it as a “fall” Some nurses especially at night say they don’t do care that is the aides job they won’t even left a finger except ONE. Sometimes we don’t even have what we need to take care of the residents properly. Bed mats, wipes, Briefs etc . BED BUGS in the building and they will lie to you saying it’s “carpet beetles” when everyone have pictures of bed bugs they have instead of fully getting the proper care knowing that multiple people quit because they have got bit!
They hire people with little to NONE experience..staff do not get properly trained they will just throw you on the hallway and expect you to know everything and every resident. Rooms are filthy housekeeping doesn’t stick around much and if they do it’s so filthy you can’t tell a difference.
Management is AWFUL they do not like having the on call phone if nurses is notifying them about a fall or an emergency GAY LINN complain and get smart with nurses for doing their job because unfortunately she got woken up and she’s on call that’s her jo! Danae is never seen but always have an attitude like her job is the hardest and she just sit in the office. Jennifer is very nice she will help you with anything she possibly can to make you feel comfortable.
If anybody is going to pay thousands for their love ones you’re better off keeping them home because what they are charging at the gardens is not worth it. Food is terrible give them diarrhea they eat the same food little portions they feed them the same breakfast every morning they eat more for lunch than dinner, dinner is at 4pm and they are hungry 2 hours later. I’ve cried for these residents and tried to be a voice but our concerns are never took serious if we say too much we are fired! RUN NOT WALK this place is terrible compared to the building in Streetsboro. The review from Ebony Fears below is COMPLETELY true I was her mom aide and the building failed her mother completely. Shortly after that review her...
Read moreIn the beginning, the memory care unit seemed fine. We were told that the facility would be getting a Medicaid wing, and almost one year later, it hasn't happened. My mother had a private room, with a monitoring camera where we could redirect her over the camera's microphone, until funding resorted to her having to be placed in a double room, which IS NOT a traditional "double room". We were then told that the camera had to be taken down, due to this being a violation of her roommate's privacy. If the camera was solely focused on my mom, then how was this a violation of the roommate 's privacy? My mom is a high falls risk and falls quite frequently. There is NO WAY I should have found my mother on her knees crying ON THE FLOOR and NO ONE knew how long she had been there (not even her) not to mention she was SOAKING wet. We provided EVERYTHING for our mom and were told to put her name on everything and even then on laundry day she doesn't get her things back or has someone else's, it's very frustrating. Also, her name is on her wheelchair, yet she's in someone else's chair. Her hygiene is terrible, she most often falls when she tries to go to the bathroom alone, then I'll get the call that she had an unwitnessed fall and no injury, vitals are always stable. There will be repercussions when and/or if I get the call that she fell and she had a detrimental injury. She's been soaked on numerous occasions when we've visited and sometimes had to clean her on our own. The head charge nurse is WONDERFUL and my mom trusts her and feels comfortable with her, so my mom tries to comply with what she asks of her to the best of her ability and the same nurse is awesome at communicating with me. I had reserves about sending her there in the beginning because their sister facility was under state review, and I believe that they should be as well. They really are one more fall away from me complaining to the ombudsman. Oh and her roommate is also a high falls risk. She doesn't get any physical therapy, I have to make her dental appointments off sight, and psych services off site as well. I may as well have her home for the level of care that she's getting there, only difference is, is she falls at home, it's neglect. Until I can find her a place closer to home, she's stuck in a place where she...
Read moreI am very happy to leave this review of The Gardens at Cuyahoga Falls. My loved one moved there in December of 2023 and suffers from Dementia. From the moment we moved him in, we were pleased with the kindness of the many staff members. The residents and staff alike make him feel like he is part of their community.
Now it is important to note that NO PLACE IS PERFECT! Things don't go right all the time and that is life, however I appreciate the great communication they provide and the ability to come up with a good solution together.
I also must mention that we greatly appreciate the assistance they have given us regarding all the important paperwork that goes into caring for my loved one. They were knowledgeable of most of the requirements needed to attain certain benefits, and when a topic came up that they were unsure of they found the answer. It would have been a much longer process if they hadn't assisted us....
