UPDATE: My wife and I switched to the Publix pharmacy. Sooooo much better. Easy fix!
On 6-9-2025 at 9:15 a.m., my wife visited her family doctor who prescribed her a medication and sent the prescription to her designated local Walgreen's in Dadeville, AL. A couple of hours later she received a text message from Walgreen's asking if she wanted the prescription filled and if so to respond " yes" to their text, which she did. Walgreen's replied and said they were taking action to fill it. That evening at about 5:30, she stopped by the Walgreen's on her way home from work to pick it up. She instead was told at the pharmacy that her insurance would not authorize the request until after 6-11-2025. Why didn't Walgreen's notify her of that update and save her a trip to the store? She then told the pharmacy that she was going out of town for a few days and that she would pick the medication up on 6-16-2025. They said that would be fine and they would have it ready for her. So, on 6-16-2025, she returned to Walgreen's only to find the prescription was never filled. She ended up waiting about 30 minutes in the store while they did so. I was with my wife at the time and asked to speak to the pharmacy manager which I did. She gave me her first name but refused to give me her last name. I'm fine with that. May be company policy. It was at 3:10 p.m. when we spoke. I asked why there was such a problem, from start to finish, in getting this prescription filled. I told her that this was just one example of many problems my wife and I have had at this particular Walgreen's. She was totally indifferent to our concern, offered no apology, nor stated she was sorry for the inconvenience. She displayed no customer service skills whatsoever. My wife and I have made the decision to begin looking for another pharmacy. One that treats their customers with respect and has the decency to admit when a mistake has been made. Shame on you Walgreen's for promoting someone into a management position when they obviously are not qualified to fill it. Get this poor girl...
Read moreThis review will stay at one star until companies like Walgreens stop using automated voice systems. It should not take 15 minutes to get through a robot just to speak with a pharmacist. The system doesn’t store the information I provide, it doesn’t pass anything along, and it doesn’t help it just wastes time. I don’t need a robot; I need a human being. Drop the automated service and bring back real...
