You really have to advocate for yourself here for answers especially if you are new. I haven't really known where to go and have had to go back to advising twice after my first time. People will give you misinformation or just guide you back to the website. Went to Financial Aid today and the girls at the front looked at me like I was stupid when I told them I was wondering why I'd been dropped from a course, told me that I could just add the course back and hope it doesn't drop again. They didn't even try to take a look at my information, just seemed they wanted me out, so I wasn't taking that for an answer of course. I then went to advising and the guy then took me directly back to aid and helped fix the situation, so if you're new to college just remember that if you have questions/concerns ask and ask again until all of them are solved or else you're gonna be screwed over by the incompetence of some of the people who work here. Others will genuinely help you fix the situation, it seriously just depends. Don't take the answer you aren't looking for at face value as well. I emailed my student advisor and he didn't respond for four days until I'd actually visited the campus and saw another advisor and by that time it was too late, the other advisor told me to show him on the college board website and that was all he needed. The answer that I got from my previous advisor was a very short and brief answer telling me to send my SAT scores through college board which for me at this point would've been a 30-45 dollar fee instead of the nothing I had to pay today. This campus needs to work on a bunch of things logistically for sure, but...
Read moreI’m rating one star because the communication with the people who physically work on the campus and the people who work in the call center is completely nonexistent! Giving someone misinformation and having them take the time to go to the campus is completely inconsiderate. For someone like me who is s single working mom it is not ok. Especially when it’s right before winter break. I need specific simple questions answered and the woman in the office did not help whatsoever. And even felt it was necessary to tell me she was training. Why is that any of my business? She’s still an employee therefore get somebody who can at least attempt to help me. Not hand me cards and send me on my way. I even called to speak with a supervisor because to not help someone right They also need new people who are trained correctly working in the office. Customer service is just horrible these days. So sick of places that...
Read moreTrying to correct an error to get instate intuition has been so frustrating it's rediculous. No one can think outside 1 thing. VA driver license which doesn't prove residency per their website. In fact nothing really does. Apparently what doesn't count is moving here almost 2 years ago for a job. Buying a house nor paying VA taxes. Save your time if you make a mistake on your application since there was no way to correct it and those that can change aren't able to think about use logic. Anything they want is voter registration which also is not listed as proof on the website. Just think of I have in and sent the money to get a VA driver license I could drive to another state that I have a address to use and change it again nor does it stop me from just moving out of this state and join the rest of the...
