Nestled in a bustling neighborhood, this pho spot was once a go-to haven, celebrated for its comforting, authentic bowls of Vietnamese noodle soup. I remember the days when their large pho was an unbeatable $12, a fair price for hearty portions and classic flavors that felt worth every dollar. Sadly, those days have passed.
On my recent visit, I was surprised—and disappointed—to see the price for a small bowl set at $14.45 and a large at $15.45. For pho, especially a dish meant to be accessible and affordable, this pricing feels like a reach. It’s as if they’ve rebranded themselves as a high-end restaurant overnight, yet the quality and experience don't measure up to the new premium.
The broth lacked the depth and aroma that make pho so distinctive. It was fine, but in the way you’d describe something average, a bit uninspired, and lacking the rich, simmered complexity I’d expect for a $15 bowl. The noodles were cooked well enough, though they clumped together slightly, and the meat portion felt a little skimpy.
Overall, this place is still okay for a quick bowl of pho, but with prices climbing and flavors stagnating, it feels like they’re coasting on past glory rather than improving the experience. It’s sad to see a once-reliable favorite go down this route. With so many pho options in the area, I’m inclined to explore elsewhere—because at $15, I expect more...
Read moreMy husband and I have been going to viet fortune since they opened. It was our go to Sunday family meal since it is a short distance drive from our place in triangle and there food was so delicious, clean and affordable. The owners became our family as well and watched the daughter grow. We have been in viet fortune for months since we moved out of town. But we do make an effort to stop by every time we pass thru I-95 for quick good soup. However, last night my husband and I ate here and unfortunately it will be our last time. I had spoken to the current manager/owner about this place and said it was sold few months ago. Let me tell you it was BAD FOOD. Not only they completely changed the menu and added more things but the food taste and food quality consistence were not the same. The appetizers were very greasy to a point they served it to us with leaking oil all over the plate. The pho soup - definitely doesn’t taste clean and there was a fly flowing on top of my soup. I cannot tell you whether you should or should go to the place. Try it for yourself but for those we used to go here before it was sold to the current owners. Please don’t even bother. Its not the same lady and her elder mother who used runs this business any longer. Definitely not the same food we used to eat every Sunday dinner. Farewell...
Read moreThis is the real deal. We ordered crispy pork rolls, summer rolls, Bo Kho and iced coffee. Every single dish was cooked to perfection; you can really see how much effort was put in by taking a bite out of the crispy roll. Pork and noodles were finely grounded, and you can really appreciate the flavor bursting out of these rolls. Not much to say about the summer rolls besides the presentation was great and fresh ingredients were used. House hoisin Sauce was light and flavorful instead of the using the thick, commercially available product. I have tried both the rice and egg noodles for the Bo Kho, and I was pleasantly surprised by the texture of the noodles; perfectly light and chewy. The stew was oversaturated, in a good way, with tender cubes of meat. Broth was not overpowering but sweet and mild with hearty beef flavor. Iced coffee was bold and sweet, a perfect balance, much like the yin and yang, was achieved. To top off excellent foods, their customer service was top-notch. Despite having a room full of customers, our water cups never ran out of water. The waitress was cordial and checked on us frequently. Lastly, the bathroom was clean and the rest of the restaurant was maintained really well with pleasant ambience. Overall, our experience was exquisite and I highly recommend to all Vietnamese...
