So many cool trucks to see! My son had a fantastic time and so did I. My wife had to drag us both away. They have equipment all the way back to the mid-1800s when it was hand pump wagons. It was un-air-conditioned where the trucks/wagons are stored so keep that in mind when you’re visiting. Try to go on a relatively mild fall day if you can. Oh and definitely call before you go. They have to abide by the county’s COVID restrictions so they may or may not be open depending on the county’s COVID levels.

Excellent preservation of fire history. Housed in the old Dallas Fire Department Maintenance facility. History from many departments is on display. Not only is it a museum, it is an active apparatus restoration site with all phases of restoration going on. From hand drawn wagons to large aerials there are many here. They do excellent work here! Gift shop on site. Open Thu-Sat 10-2.

This is a great stop in. Very uncrowded. Curator gave personal guided tour. This is a working museum with a lot of equipment being restored. Everything from hand pump pull carts from the 1800s to modern ladder trucks.
