I’ve had both bad luck and now a bad experience at this store. I recently moved to the area and was so excited to support a small local business! I’ve tried to go here 5 or so times the last couple of months and multiple times it was closed unexpectedly. The one time that I did get it I felt ignored by the owner as I tried to navigate the shop and find a certain size paper. This morning I tried going back and again the store was again unexpectedly closed. The owner was there so I very politely popped in to say I was trying to buy one small item and I didn’t have any more time to wait for her to reopen. She told me it was my fault and I wasn’t coming at the right time, shrugged, and ultimately told me that she would re-open next week. She then said I should go to the shipping shack instead. So I don’t know if I just looked like I didn’t have enough money to be worth her time? Caught her on a bad day? It seems like other people are having better luck than me. Read moreI have been a seasonal customer of SBAS for several years. When I vacation in the area I always make a point of stopping by to see what's new and visit Carol, whether I need to or not. It's a great welcoming atmosphere and well stocked art supply store, packed within a small space. If she doesn't have what you think you need, she's generally got great alternatives in stock at very decent prices. I'm sorry that this season I won't be seeing Salty the Cat, as he was always a welcoming part of the staff there. I'm looking forward to visiting within the next few days....
