McKinnon’s Market & Super Butcher Shop — Local services in Danvers

This was my first time in this store. The produce looked extremely fresh I love the yogurt fruit cups. I round the corner, WOW a complete aisle of MEATS!! I haven't seen that much meat in my life, and I love meat! Everything looked so good, I ended up purchasing some NY strip steaks, stuffed chicken breast and a whole brisket for smoking! The shelves were very well stocked compared to other stores I've shopped. Also, I was surprised to see the store care craft beers & wine! I couldn't believe they carried my favorite cabernet, Caymus!

Being this was the first time in the store I had to ask the employees where things were located. The actually took me to the item! It is rare to see that great level customer service, and most of all they did it with a smile.

I will definitely be back here again. It is good to see a small independent store competing with the lifeless chain...

I’ve only been there twice and yes they have very good cuts of meat and products etc. I’m giving two stars for that reason. In my two experiences the first time I didn’t really know where certain vegetables were and asked they seemed frustrated to help me and the second time they were out of some meat and offered to cut me the amount the person I was buying for asked for at first it was ok but when I told the person I was getting the item for they wanted a half pound removed. Long story short I asked and they were very upset I asked to have the meat trimmed. If it was for me I would have said ok and bought it, but it wasn’t. I know it’s not ideal to do as well I worked on deli’s and other places similar for many years in the past. But if I acted that way to a customer I would be talked to about it. I will probably shy away from going there...

This review is for the catering team! We’ve used McKinnon’s catering twice this year, once for a baby shower and again for Thanksgiving. We really cannot recommend it he food enough for quality, quantity, and affordability. Everyone raved about the chicken parm, meatballs, and broccoli alfredo for the shower. The salads were MASSIVE and came with dressings and croutons. The desserts flew off the tray. And the Thanksgiving meal was incredible from the turkey to the sides. The staff is so helpful in figuring out quantities, so if you’re not sure what to order (and how much) they can help. And you seriously cannot beat the price! We got quotes from several places.
