A year ago I went in there, and they had this young girl who claimed to be a manager, smoking outside. I don't go in there as often anymore, but when I do go in, there's always some kind of drama with them. The young gir,l who was half my age and half my size, started accusing me of stealing her green Grinch hoodie from some pontoon boat. I figured she was high and didn't really know what she was talking about. She kicked me out, banning me from coming back. The other manager, who is an adult, took her side and wouldn't even address the issue. Well, a year later and I moved closer to that store so I started going in there again, ready to fight for my right to shop wherever I want, in spite of false accusations. What the heck would I want with a green Grinch hoodie that's not going to fit me anyway lol. Well, things have sure denigrated there. Now, whenever I go in there, they are supposed to be closing at 8:00 p.m., but they start closing their store an hour and a half ahead of time. That same manager chases customers around telling them that they have only 40 minutes to get their stuff and leave and don't go crying to him if they can't check out. 40 minutes where he could be restocking the very empty shelves, opening up another register, or doing some kind of work that he's allegedly being paid for. Every 5 minutes he was making an announcement that the store was going to be closing in an hour, then in 40 minutes, then in 35 minutes, walking around the store trying to get the customers to move faster. I don't think he really wants to work. There were so many empty shelves, and the attitude there is horrible. If he wanted people out of there faster, he should have opened up a second register to help. The staff is told they have to work on their days off, or else they're fired. I'm guessing they only pay minimum wage LOL. There is no joy and no customer service. They are stressed, unhappy, miserable people, and the shelves are usually empty. Dollar Tree in Kettering on Woodman is much better. They are happy, they greet you, and are very helpful. Go...
Read moreSome of the staff at this location are really rude to me and I don't know why. I had to void an item today because my selections overshot my EBT budget. The cashier was very unkind and hurtful. They sighed and said "I guess I'll take the L". I asked what they meant because I was worried they would be in trouble for some reason. They claimed that voiding my items was "technically shoplifting". I don't understand how that is possible, since the items were just going to be reshelved. I feel like I was accused of a crime I didn't commit. It was really hurtful. Now that I think about it, they have said some weird things to me in the past about shoplifters, but I've never shoplifted. Even as a teenager. I have OCD so I frequently check my belongings when I'm out. Sometimes I wear masks because I'm scared of people. Maybe they think I was stealing when I did that? If so, I would encourage them to review any footage they may have because I have never put anything in my purse that wasn't already there.
I understand that there is a societal problem with shoplifting that has gotten so bad it's driving people out of business. I also understand that Dollar Tree employees have a very hard job that doesn't pay well. It's easy to burn out and become jaded. But I am not a thief.
The cashier was so mean today that it is abundantly clear that they don't want my business, so I guess I won't be going back. My feelings are hurt though. I wish people would just communicate instead of being...
Read moreI love the Dollar Tree, except I always get more than I went in for. Think it's only a dollar, but before you know you've spent more than you thought or wanted . Not the stores fault! All mine!! Usually a bright, clean and we'll stocked. It's no guarantee that what you found on your visit that it will be there your next visit. If it's something you really want or need buy now or you might not find it again, especially pet treats. Most employees are pleasant and friendly, greet with a smile and pleasant conversation. PS all stores do not carry the same products. I've learned if you find something in one store, don't expect to find in another. Enjoy you trip to...
