Be prepared for shoddy 1970's construction with a fascia of new counter tops and flooring. You may be disgusted the first time you see overflowing trash bins, but you will eventually get used to it. The plumbing is a nightmare. Leaks are frequent, as are entire day-long water shut-offs. Ridiculously high heating and (BYO portable A/C) cooling bills as everything is electric. If your car is larger than a Subaru it likely won't fit into the redone, tiny garages. And your manager, Sandy Castro, once you sign that paperwork, will never care about you again.

Sandy is now populating the building with millennials, so she has more control and can take further advantage of her young tenants' naivete. Be prepared to be lied to or misled by your community manager Sandy more often than you'd like. She will amaze even the most jaded of characters with her ideas of the truth. Her passive-aggressiveness and lack of communication skills are glaring.

That said, it's a great, really quiet neighborhood, and 1 block to a beautiful beach. Dog beach is only 3 blocks to the north, and the property accepts pets. The building residents are younger, but for the most part really chill.

Please notice the lack of reviews for this 40-year old rental. The reviews were so bad, that just last month, Sandy "bombed" the OLD BeachHouse Apartments Yelp page, and started a fresh clean Yelp page for 2019. Don't be fooled. 50 negative reviews were just bombed last month! And, seriously, it would be a terrific place to live if Sandy Castro wasn't...

Outside of just generally being overpriced to live there, they aren’t well kept, and get ready to also be robbed on the way out. I only lived there for a little more than one year, and I thought I had seen it all with corporate greed in the rental department these days, but they kept my security deposit and even charged me an overage for “pet damages and carpet replacement.” Not only do I not own a pet, I have never owned a pet, and in fact never had one on the premises the entire time I lived there. They know this, I had to sign a waiver indicating that. They did not respond to my dispute, and I still not have received my money back....

Those burgers! The Onion Rings are also very good as well. The place is not big and its usually crowded, but that gives you a hint of how good this burgers are. And...
