Dennis Cycle Center — Local services in Dennis

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THEIR BIKE REPAIR - THEY DO NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS. This is the kind of business that survives based on convenience of bike path and tourists who are at their mercy. If you have any other option, do not patronize this business. I went in to ask when a good time to drop a bike off for a repair might be -- and got such rude responses from four different people working there. I can't imagine that is the way a business can survive. For background, I had a great experience with this shop two years ago and because of that, I drove three towns over for this potential repair. When I went in, I was in a great mood and had no time expectations and asked with zero pressure about a possible repair. To repeat, I was in NO hurry and the repair is a fairly straight forward gear tune up... I realized that they were a little busy but not crazy busy ... There were at least 5 people working there and at least two were NOT with customers. The first person I asked was just plain rude... basically said 'now is not a good time' -- which was kind of obvious and why I didn't ask anything other then, when is a good time to come back later in the week. He was super frazzled and continued being rude. I move on and asked a second person and he was kind of deer in headlights and said "I don't know." The third and fourth people were equally unhelpful and at best mocking but mostly just rude. None were equipped to deal with customers. They may have cheap rentals as other reviews have mentioned but if you have an option to take a bike repair ANYWHERE else or any sort of purchase, GO ELSEWHERE. These four workers were super rude and based on their behavior, I will go out of my way to not...

This place is amazing! First, I changed my reservation 2x and there were no issues with adjustments-they were totally cool with this which can be uncommon during tourist season. Second, when we thought about canceling due to a pending hurricane (thanks, Henri!), they said to keep the reservation and see how the weather progressed and that we could cancel up to 20 minutes before our scheduled pick up time with no charge. We kept the reservation and I am so glad we did as the bike path was lovely. Third, when we only used the bikes for half a day instead of a full, they only charged us for time used. Fourth, they are right on the bike trail-super convenient. Lastly, the equipment is solid and was well matched to each of us. Thank you Dennis...

What a find! Both locations of the Dennis Cycle Center were terrific to rent from during our week on the Cape.

On the first day my husband and I rented standard non-electric bikes and rode from the Dennis shop to Nickerson State Park in Brewster. When I was feeling ill and could not return back to Dennis, the Brewster shop was accommodating by taking my bike and my husband rode back to Dennis to get the car...no issue, no extra charge.

A few days later, we took out electric bikes from the Brewster shop and rode all the way to Wellfleet, with a stop at Marconi Beach. What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful September day on the Cape.
